Title deed says ‘property is blocked’

I’m trying to get a rental contract with an agent, but they say I have to visit their office and pay the deposit first to create a draft contract. Is this a normal process?
I’m expecting to review the contract first, then sign and make payments. Why are they asking for a security deposit before even reviewing a contract? The company looks legit but it feels scammy.
I finally found a place that I like, negotiated price etc. now all I need to do is to tell them that I want to sign.
But this agent is just so rude and I really can’t deal with him anymore. What should I do? Only if I had the contact to owner, I would request to replace the agent but I don’t. Should I contact his agency?
I'm trying to find a studio near to Circle Mall. I know everyone hates JVC for traffic, but I won't get on cars often as I work from home. Rather, I want to find a walkable place from Circle Mall for occasional shopping and training.
Would you have some recommendations?

Hi everyone,
I’m moving to Dubai in about a month and trying to figure out the best area to live in. Here’s my situation:
- Studio or 1BR for single
- No car, so I’ll rely on public transport or taxis
- I don’t need to commute daily (but I’d like some transport access to the city for occasional trips)
- Need grocery stores (a mall would be nice) and a gym within walking distance or very close by
- Budget: 3000-4500 AED/month for rent
From my research, JVC, JVT, and Gardens keep coming up as good options for my needs. But also curious about Al Jaddaf and Meydan — are these worth considering too? How do they compare in terms of convenience, community feel, and value for money?
Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Hey everyone,
I’m relocating to Dubai soon and won’t be driving — no license, no car. I work remotely so daily commuting isn’t an issue, but I’d still like to get out on weekends for shopping, food, and general exploring.
A few questions:
* Do I basically need to live near a Metro station, or is the bus network + taxis/Careem enough to get around comfortably?
* Which areas have good public transit access but are still relatively affordable on rent?
* For anyone who doesn’t drive, how has your experience been getting around Dubai day-to-day?
Trying to keep rent low, so I don’t want to overpay just to be near the Metro if it’s not really necessary. Any advice on neighborhoods or trade-offs would be super helpful. Thanks!
