Does anyone else choose their 1:64 adds almost ENTIRELY based on the wheels?

Fellow collectors, maybe I’m obsessed... but I’m a big fan of rims. The wheels are almost the only deciding factor for me when buying for my collection. If the stance and the rim details aren't right, the model just feels off. I put together a video celebrating my favourite 1:64 wheel macros. Just wanted to share the obsession.

Do you guys prioritise wheel detailing, or are you more into the make/model of the car itself?

King of the 1-Box: TLV-N 2002 Toyota Hiace Wagon Living Saloon EX (LV-N216a)

@ Tiny Legend Lens

Showing off one of the absolute highlights of Tomytec's 1:64 van castings: the Tomica Limited Vintage NEO Toyota Hiace Wagon Living Saloon EX (LV-N216a).

This specific release captures the 2002 late-model facelift of the 100-series Hiace in a two-tone White/Beige finish. The execution on the front grille, light clusters, and window trims is razor-sharp. TLV-N always delivers on scale proportions on a luxury passenger van casting makes it so much fun for diorama setups. Anyone else love collecting high-detail JDM vans alongside their sports cars?

Mini GT #510 Range Rover 1982 Camel Trophy (Team USA "Dirty Version")

@ Tiny Legend Lens

Showing off one of the most unique sets Mini GT has ever put together: the Range Rover 1982 Camel Trophy Papua New Guinea (Team USA Dirty Version).

Unlike the standard clean releases, this #510 variant (from the MGTS0006 box set) comes factory-weathered with mud effects splattered over the Sandglow paint, windows, and wheels. The roof rack detailing is stacked - twin spares, green jerry cans, recovery ramps, and bull bars. To top it off, it includes a 6-piece set of 1:64 Asaro Mudmen figures from PNG to complete the scene, however I bought the car from a friend so purchased the car only.

How do you guys feel about factory-weathered "dirty" finishes on 1:64 diecast models?

📸 Behind the Lens:

▪️ Camera: iPhone 14 Pro (Phone Lens & Ulanzi Macro Lens)

▪️ Lighting: Ulanzi Rechargeable Portable Lights

▪️ Backdrop: White / Colored Sheets on a 3D Printed Paper Holder

▪️ Edits: Photoshop (Layout Design, Light & Color Correction only)

▪️ Lots of effort and retries! No AI was used to edit the photos or modify the car, only minor color and light corrections were carried out in photoshop (manually) so you can see the model in its true, original form.

The 1963 Genesis: Mini GT #695 Porsche 901 in Signal Red (LHD)

Hey, I need your support for my Instagram page, 🙏 find me  - @ Tiny Legend Lens

Just added the Mini GT #695 Porsche 901 to my display shelf. Before Peugeot forced Porsche to swap the middle digit to a "1," this narrow-body beauty was the 901.

Mini GT did an incredible job with the Signal Red finish the non-metallic glossy coat looks super crisp against the silver trim details. It features a solid metal chassis, rubber tires, and a separate Porsche hood badge instead of a simple tampo.

How do you guys feel about Mini GT tackling vintage 1960s sports cars alongside their usual modern supercars?

1 of 499 Bliss GMC/Chevrolet Suburban GMT400 (HEC Exclusive)

Showing off a very special piece in my 1:64 truck collection: the Bliss Chevrolet/GMC Suburban GMT400 released as a Hobby Expo China (HEC) event exclusive.

With production strictly capped at only 499 units worldwide, finding one of these is a real hunt. Bliss did a stellar job capturing the boxy proportions of the GMT400 platform. It comes mounted in a display case with special HEC event packaging. Note that the tires are locked for display accuracy rather than free-rolling, but for static showcase aesthetics, it’s top-tier. How many of you collect limited event-exclusive releases?

Pop Race hit a homerun: 1:64 Mazda 787B (PR64-301) with Magnetized Cowls

Pop Race just raised the bar for 1:64 scale race cars with their brand new Mazda 787B tooling. The #55 Renown livery that won the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hours looks incredibly sharp, but the real star of the show is the execution of the magnetized body panels.

Both the front and rear cowls lift right off to reveal a surprisingly detailed 4-rotor R26B engine bay, radiator plumbing, and suspension geometry. Having magnetic attachments instead of tight-fitting plastic clips makes taking it apart seamless without worrying about scratching the paint.

How do you guys rate Pop Race’s recent releases against TLV or Inno64?
