Initial Reaction: Starsim Beyond Space/Con-Crit

I love it. And if you like Space Sims and always wanted Starfield to be more Elite Dangerous: Bethesda Edition and less Fallout w/Ship if You Wanna, this is your mod. Truthfully, this mod has the potential to be Starfields Legacy of the Dragonborn (shut up, let me finish)

In the future, this could easily be a mod that opens tons of doors for other modders to sideload mods that feed into it and could completely change Starfield and be the mod you build your whole playthrough around.

I don't agree with people who are saying this mod makes Starfield like X4. It simply makes it more in line with generic Space Sims like Starpoint Gemini. But in doing so, it actually makes Starfield a SPACE GAME.

I know this MOD is catching a TON of heat right now. I'm going to add to the fire a bit. The recent patch allows you to unlock the Settled systems right away, and that's awesome. However, my biggest gripe is the combat.

I don't understand why I can't destroy a level 4 econhoaler.

I don't get why all stock weapons are now EM.

This needs to be explained somehow. If it is, it isn't executed well.

I'm not going to watch a 55 minute review or stream. This mod needs a quick down and dirty 5-10 minute YouTube video that explains its base mechanics. Not in obsessive detail with rabbit trails, just by the bullets.

And one of the first things I would do if I could is a starter quest that actually guides the player through the initial gates to the settled systems, because even without the fog of war it is confusing. Pathfinder Origin: Quest Mod, the Jameson Navigation Corp got cyberattacked and lost all settled systems navigation info on the gate system and the player needs to travel through the gates to help them out. Something like that. Boom, Lore.

Upside: Space is beautiful, animated and I can finally play Starfield the way I've always wanted to.

Downside: I see why Bethesda went a different direction. I've put 8 hours into this mod and still do not know how to get to Cheyenne from Jemison. (Yes, I can grave jump but I'm trying to get the system plotted).

Stability: I make it one of the first things to load with both patches and 9GB of other mods. It isn't perfect. But playable.

Conclusion: Give it some time, but keep an eye on it.

EDIT------------

Removing the fog of war from the settled systems allows you to plot between the settled systems right away. I didn't know this until 2 minutes ago.

The special weapons the mod adds do INSANE damage. I've yet to get in a fight with them, but I'm assuming that has something to do with the combat *Balance*. Back to space my friends. Thank you for your comments.
