Just finished a new mountain display for my 1:64 Hyundai i20
Struggled some with this. My first time attempting convincing stone. Overall fairly happy with the outcome.

I know, I still need to weather the car, but in my defense, the in the source image the car looks pretty clean. 😁
Thanks to this sub for all the inspiration and answers, you guys are great! 🍻
About 10”x10” - still lots to learn, but I’m really enjoying this aspect of collecting and displaying.
Howdy, New guy to the hobby here!
I wanted to ask you more experienced builders - What are you guys using to mold elevation changes in your builds? Like hills, etc..
I assumed air dry clay, but the clay I purchased shrinks and cracks so badly that it’s pretty much useless for building.
I am hoping you guys might have some specific product recommendations I can try. Something with minimal shrink and dries relatively quickly. I could live with the cracking, but the shrinkage is killing me.
Thanks in advance!!
My fun little weekend project that I just finished. There’s something so relaxing about making these things - I had no idea.
First attempt at something like this and I may be hooked!
Had a ton of fun making this with stuff I already had around the house (other than the grass). I think I may have found a new hobby!
Wanted to give the new cars a retro inspired look. It’s surprisingly hard to deal with the angles and curves of these cars in the editor.
Link in the comments for anyone interested.
With Brandon Semenuk and Martens Sesks, in addition to the normal runners, this has the potential to be a banger.
Took me a while to find a Sesks version. There’s a couple spots where the paint is iffy. I’m happy with it overall. I’m new to die cast collecting - like I needed another expensive hobby. lol
