You deserve each other by Sarah Hogle

You deserve each other by Sarah Hogle! I felt like the trope was done so well by the author. I also give the book bonus points because it was done in a different way. The main characters are actually already engaged with each other, so how can yall hate each other this intensely. I love how petty Naomi and Nicholas are towards each other and neither are willing to back down easily. But as the story unfolds you can see how their walls start to come down and they slowly start to fall in love again. Tell me have you read this book already and how didyou feel about it?

Looking for books where MC1 has trauma nightmares and MC2 crawls into bed to comfort him

Hi! This is pretty specific but I've read a couple of books with this and really love it. So basically I'm looking for books where one the main characters has terrible nightmares caused by something terrible happening to them in their past some kind of trauma. The other mc lives in the same, apartment, dorm, or house whatever and can hear the other one wrestling, struggling with these nightmares. They try to mind their own business well because they're not close to each other. (Even better if they started out as enemies) But one night the other mc just can't ignore it anymore and crawls in bed with the mc having the nightmare and comforts them.

I love the hurt/comfort element, the comfort the mc provides to the other even when the other mc tries so hard to be tough and resist any support because they feel like they deserve it when they don't and they are literally touch starved. It becomes a thing that thr mc needs. A book that had this like Man on by Rebecca Rathe.

Other books that were close that had the mc holding/cuddling the other mc because they have a breakdown and/or nightmares Save the game by jj mulder, and sweat by jonah yorke.

Would love any books recs!

My father is unbearably controlling

Hello, this is long sorry about that but I just need to get this off my chest. I'm really at my wits end with this man. Since I was a child all this man has ever done is make my life as miserable as humanly possible. I am currently 28 years old and I still leave at home with my parents, I know... pathetic but I'll explain why in a bit.

My father as far back as my memories goes has always treated me like the bottom of his shoes. Telling me I'm stupid, dumb, that I'd be nothing if it weren't for him controlling me and everyone in my immediate family's lives. He is constantly yelling at me and it takes nothing for him to explode into a angry fiery and I mean nothing. He use to throw major yelling fits because I was "looking" at him the wrong way. Mind you I'm like 12 and not doing anything. There's have been many instances that this has happened. One time he almost broke the patio door because he was so angry that won't make him food to eat. Or time he yelled at me and my brother for hours because we could figure something out on his boat. He literally decided after some time to call another adult to help with the boat and not a 10 and 8 year old. The other adult was like hey man they were never going to figure this out and he was like laughing and acting like he was not berating us for hours.

Anything at anytime is likely to set him off, so I've been living on egg shells. Never able to express my feeling because I did not want to be yelled at and made to feel like nothing. It's made me pretty passive aggressive I feel. I try to limit talking to him and that triggers him too. I've spend most of time in my room and if I was in the living room I would just go to my room because if I stay, he'll yell and berate for sitting there. So, I still live there because he refuses to work and has a pretty serious gambling problem. He's been gambling for all my life and it has only gotten worst in recent years because of his refusal to work. My mom works but she doesn't make that much and he pretty much gambles most of her paycheck away and so the onus falls on me mostly or they could lose their home. So I currently pay 1000 to 1200 monthly for the mortgage, and some of the other bills. That 1200 doesn't include the money I pay for food, gas, etc. Oh did mention he loves to "borrow" money from me to gamble more and he won't stop asking and harassing me until I give it to him. One time he took the money I had for school it was like 2000 plus for the semester gambled it and lost it all and never gave it back I had to scramble to come up with money so I didn't get kicked out of my nursing program and he didn't get a damn.

Today, he was yelling at me in another one of his angry fits. He told me that I'm dumb and couldn't pass any of my classes and I'd be like a stray dog on the streets if it weren't for him. That he made all the decisions that made me as successful as I am. That I'm worthless and everyone in the house are idiots except for him and I'm honestly exhausted, I can't do this anymore. I plan to move out by the end of the year I'm helping my brother save for a car and once he gets it I'm leaving. I was trying to save for a house but I can't paying their bills and helping my brother so I might as will get an apartment so I can get some peace and save more there. I got a scholarship that paid for tuition in full for my academics, paid for the rest myself because I worked when I was in school. I become a nurse and make decent money, I know I can take care of myself and at this point they can just struggle I'm over it. I'm tired of doing alot and still being disrespected constantly. I know I'm not crazy and deserve to be treated better.

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk 👄

Looking for forced proximity

Hello! I'm looking for a story where the main characters dislike each other turn to lovers, I love elements of hurt/comfort( I love for one of the mmc to have to be vulnerable by force because of certain circumstances.) I also like when the characters are forced to be in close proximity, roommates, same team etc. One of the characters struggles with accepting themselves and has to grow to accept themselves.

I prefer for it to be high spicy, and complementary

So if it has hurt/comfort and close proximity but no enemies to lovers I'm cool with it, if it's a great book and vice versa or any combination in between my preferred tropes!
