How many Axle Energy events in Yorkshire & Humber in last 6 months?

Hello all,

Quick question for anyone on Axle in the Yorkshire & Humber. How many events have you had over the last 6 months, and what kind of payouts are you seeing?

I’m considering picking up a cheap second-hand Solis inverter purely to participate. My plan is to keep it completely isolated from the AC grid side, just wired to a spare battery and connected to Wi-Fi so Axle detects it online. When an event is called, I’d trigger the battery discharge with my Sunsynk&Fogstar setup (32kWh) either manually or automate it via Predbat.

Before spending money on the extra hardware and setup, I want to calculate the ROI and see if the local event frequency makes it worth the hassle.

If anyone could share rough event counts, average earnings, or experiences running a secondary setup like this, I’d really appreciate it. Cheers!

Sunsynk paused development of integration with Axle

For your information only if you're waiting for the integration of Sunsynk with Axle to be happened... There's a post in FB Axle group mentioned Sunsynk paused the development so pretty sure it's not going to be happened in foreseeable future. Happy to share the link to the source here but I'm not sure if it's a violation to the rules of this subreddit.

Won full reimbursement from KLM after EU261 claim

My KLM flight in Aug 2025 got cancelled and they put me on some detour flight about 9 hours later, but in reality it basically shifted everything from leaving at night to leaving the next morning so total delay ended up being over 12 hours.

They did pay the EU261 compensation without much issue, but when it came to expenses it was pretty frustrating. I had hotel, transport and food costs because of the delay, all pretty reasonable, but they only reimbursed less than €100 and refused the rest. Their “final decision” came around Oct and they pretty much just said that’s all they’re paying.

I left it for a while and didn’t bother pushing back straight away, then in Jan 2026 I decided to just send it to AviationADR anyway.

What surprised me is KLM didn’t even submit a defence. They were given the chance but basically didn’t respond at all. The adjudicator just went through my receipts and timeline and decided the costs were reasonable and that KLM should pay. I’ve now received the full reimbursement.

Just to set expectation, AviationADR itself can take around 6 months even for a straightforward case like this, and that’s not counting all the time already wasted going back and forth with KLM before that.

So if anyone is stuck with an airline paying the compensation but refusing proper expenses, I’d say it’s still worth going to ADR even if some time has passed. In my case it ended up being quite straightforward once it got there.

Any noise from 8kW LV battery hybrid inverter? (Sunsynk ACURE 8kW or Solis S6 8kW)

Hello all,

Wish if you could share your experience with Sunsynk ACURE 8kW or Solis S6 8kW Single Phase inverters. Did you find the "intelligent air cooling" noise is high please? I'm going to install it in an integral garage where my desk is also located (probably about two metres from the inverter). Would it be annoying and even others could hear the fan noise when I'm making phone calls?

From the datasheets, probably I will go to Sunsynk ACURE as noise level is stated as 30dB and its an Intelligent Air Cooling inverter. Just wish to see if any real world experience could be shared? 🙏

Thanks all comments in advance.

8kW Hybrid Inverter (Sunsynk ACURE vs Solis S6) in a Garage Home Office: Too loud for Zoom calls?

Hi everyone,

I am currently planning a solar installation for my house and could really use some real-world feedback regarding inverter fan noise.

My planned setup:

  • Solar: 6.5kWp array
  • Battery: Fogstar 16.1kWh (48V Low Voltage)
  • Inverter Options: Narrowed down to either the Sunsynk ACURE 8kW or the Solis S6 Pro 8kW (due to the 190A battery current capability needed to fast-charge the Fogstar on Octopus Agile).

The Dilemma: The inverter will be installed in my integral garage. The catch is, I have a desk set up in the garage and I use it as my daily home office. I will be sitting just a few meters away from the inverter while working.

My biggest worry is noise and structural resonance during high-load periods—specifically during the overnight 8kW fast-charging window on Agile, or during heavy daytime discharges.

I have a few questions for anyone running an 8kW single-phase Sunsynk or Solis:

  1. The Zoom Call Test: How loud is the fan drone under full 8kW load? If you are sitting in the same room, does it sound like a server room or a hairdryer? More importantly, do standard laptop/headset mics pick it up during video calls, or does Zoom/Teams noise suppression manage to block it out completely?
  2. Anti-Vibration Mounting: Has anyone successfully asked their MCS contractor to install high-density insulating/anti-vibration rubber pads or washers between the brick wall and the inverter's metal mounting bracket? Did your installer give you any pushback regarding safety/weight, and did it actually help deaden the low-frequency transformer hum/vibration leaking through the wall into the main house?
  3. The External Fan Mod: I've read about people strapping 2 or 3 external 120mm PC fans (like Noctua) to the bottom intake or rear heatsink. For those who have tried this on a Sunsynk or Solis, does it actually keep the unit cool enough to prevent the internal "jet-engine" fans from kicking in at 100%?
  4. Sunsynk vs Solis: If noise and coil whine (transformer hum) are my main concerns at low-to-medium idle loads, which of these two is the quieter neighbor?

Would love to hear any experiences or see photos of your garage office setups/cooling mods!

Thanks in advance!
