UFS 2 GA Tickets for San Jose 10/10

Hi! I’m stupid and when initially purchasing tickets for the San Jose show I didn’t realize the VIP packages included GA tickets so I ended up buying 2 VIPs and 2 GA. So long story short I have 2 GA tickets up for sale.

Just trying to get back what I paid so I can make even, $45 each (prefer to sell as a pair). Thanks!

(Central Valley, CA - Will travel!) Gorgeous 4-year-old Colorpoint Tortie DSH looking for quiet home after losing owner

Hi all, Shadow lost her owner to a long fight with cancer back in April and is looking for a new, quiet, indoor-only home where she can thrive. Myself and other family members have taken in as many animals as possible following her owner's passing, and Shadow is the last one looking for a new start. We are located in Stanislaus County CA but would be willing to travel and deliver!

Shadow is approximately 4 years old and is very fearful with new people; she is a great hider and knows how to open cabinets. However, once she warms up, Shadow is an extremely affectionate girl who enjoys being held and brushed. She likes lickable treats and playing with wand toys. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body. Shadow has lived with other cats and small dogs, she has not been around children.

She is up-to-date on rabies until 2028. We are in the process of obtaining records from her vet to confirm other vaccination statuses. Shadow is spayed.

The post says to reach out via Facebook as this was originally posted there but please comment below or reach out via Reddit DM if you are interested or know someone who may have an open home for Shadow. Vet reference & detailed conversation discussing placement will be required.

Some more Eve content

No, she was not happy about her brother laying on (squishing) her and promptly removed herself after photos.

Free Philips DreamStation 2 - Safe to use?

Hi all, TLDR is that I got diagnosed with mild sleep apnea this month and have started my journey into getting a CPAP machine. I was talking to my MIL about it yesterday and she pointed out that her mother (who just passed away earlier this year) had a CPAP machine that she was just going to donate, but I was more than welcome to have it for free (I am aware it would require cleaning and sanitization before use).

It happens to be a Philips DreamStation 2, and from what I've gathered in my very minimal research is that Philips is not well trusted anymore following their DS 1 recall. I know the DS 2 does not have the same foam as the DS 1 and has had warnings out for overheating etc.

It would really help me out financially to take the machine and only have to worry about my mask and other accessories, but I'm just worried after hearing so many bad things about Philips and their products. Any advice appreciated, thank you!

PetsBest to MetLife Family? (Via Work)

Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone had some insight into Met Life, particularly their family plans. Previously I had a single cat on PetsBest and haven’t really had any negative experiences, but my work offers 10% off Met Life and we’ve adopted two cats in the past year so I was looking at their family plans as an option. And I know since my work offers Met Life they would cover any pre-existing conditions my cat coming from PetsBest has. TIA!

Trapped a Nursing Mom

Just venting, but open to any kind words or advice.

I lost my last TNR appointment because the cat I trapped ended up being owned (was chipped, indoor/outdoor, not tipped, had a careless owner). Dealt with some anger there but moved on.

Trapped a cat on Monday night that I knew had kittens a few months ago but neither of her feeders saw any signs of pregnancy following the litter, but I should've known better - shoulda coulda woulda I guess.

During intake today the shelter employee said she was certain she's nursing and recently had kittens, maybe a week ago. She said she'd try to get her a same day spay so I could pick up today (typically, they intake Wednesday and let us pick up Friday here). I rushed to where I trapped her certain I wouldn't find anything because the kittens would either be dead after being without their mom for close to 36 hours or maybe stillborn and lo and behold I heard crying from under the house where she had her last litter.

TLDR I spent hours trying to get them out, and finally when we got someone underneath the house we discovered the kittens are in the air conditioning duct and we have no idea how the mother got in there. There was no way to get to the kittens without cutting open the A/C or spending hundreds on an emergency technician, and they're too young to get out themselves. I was ready to rescue the kittens and foster if need be even though I don't have the space or resources.

I called out of work and I'm sitting at home hoping that I get the call to come get her soon, but we ended up agreeing that even if she doesn't get spayed today she needs to be released for the kittens' best chance at survival. If I didn't actually find the litter it would be a different story.

It's additionally more frustrating because if I would've known all of this earlier in the day I could've pulled her from the shelter's TNR program and worked with a local agency for a same day spay.

Overall, I just feel defeated and upset and am close to just giving up TNR altogether or taking a long break. At the very least I'm adding nipple checks to my checklist for post-trapping and chalking this up to a giant learning experience.

Oxford’s 3rd Gotcha Day!

A couple days late but June 30th was Oxford’s third gotcha day. Can’t believe he went from being the runt of his litter to being 15 pounds at a healthy weight (have to disclaimer otherwise he sounds obese, lol)! Last pic is from his third birthday.

Trapped my first owned cat this week

Just wanted to vent a little bit. I started TNRing a few months ago as the feral/community cat population in my city is out of control and I'm an avid cat lover. I trap one cat every two weeks and get them fixed at the shelter, and I'm already struggling with feeling like I'm not doing enough or making an impact which may be why today's situation is upsetting me so much.

After a night of failed trapping I set up my trap yesterday morning and ended up getting a female by midday. Dropped her off at the shelter this morning and wasn't even 10 minutes out when they called and let me know she was chipped and belonged to someone a couple streets over. They told me they'd contact the owner and if the owner wouldn't come pick up I promised to go get her after work today and return her. Ironically she was adopted out from the shelter a couple months back.

I'm just irritated because knowing the individuals in my neighborhood, it's highly unlikely she got out by accident and was lost, I obviously don't know for sure but I'd bet a hefty sum that they let her out on purpose as an indoor/outdoor cat. She had no ear tip or a collar that would have tipped me off to this and I'm considering purchasing a home microchip scanner for the cats who are not so "obviously" feral.

So now I'm out of an appointment and a lot of time and resources that I put into this because I work full-time in office and have to shuffle my schedule around every other week in order to trap and drop off. I know this definitely will not be the last time this happens, but just wanted to vent a little bit.

Torbie? Tabico? Torbico?

This is Eve, a TNR of mine that I recently took inside permanently. I initially thought she had just a tabby calico coat but I stumbled upon this subreddit and now I’m unsure! It seems like the white on her chest and throughout her belly puts her more in the Calico category.
