Waiting anxiously myself
The silver ring is kind of crazy looking and I’ve never seen one like this before. I have a toddler, is it safe to keep in our garden?
I know it looks disgusting, it’s been sitting in the closet of a house with a cat for about 4.5 years and it was already pretty dusty when I bought it.
Booting it up for the first time myself in years, and it gives me three long beeps, and google tells me it’s likely RAM related. I don’t know the first thing about PC building and parts (why I bought it from a friend) and even if I did this PC is so compact I have no idea how I’d get to things without breaking it. Google told me to clean it but I’m just sitting here thinking “how the hell can I do that?”
I’m no longer friends with the person who built it/sold it to me, and even that was over 6 years ago, so I’m not sure if this is a fixable issue or if I should just start looking into something new. He built it himself, and I have no idea how he installed everything inside it, what parts he used, etc. I’m wondering if I should take it apart and keep some parts to use to learn how to build my own, but also have no idea how to work with any of this or how it’s even installed so I can take it all out.
The PC starts and runs all its fans and shines all its colors, but nothing displays when hooked up to my TV via HDMI (I have no monitor rn)
I’m not looking for specific advice beyond “is this worth trying to fix myself (if yes maybe some leads on where to start), or should I scrap it/sell it?”
The only notable things I know about it is these parts:
- Nvidia Titan XP Galactic Empire Collector’s Edition graphics card and fan
- Corsair Noctua parts (not sure what they are)
- G Skill Ripjaws (not sure what type)
Pictures provided, I’m sorry I have no idea about PCs but I’d like to learn
did anyone hear what sounded like rapid fire in arcata just now?
