22 years of age and lost.

Hey everyone, my first time posting here after being a lurker for a while and not finding any posts relevant to my situation.

I am a 22 year old student living in Europe. I am fully supported by my mom financially and I want to try to change that.

For context I pay 720 euros per month for rent, and my allowance is 700 euros per month. Honestly after budgeting I realised I can live off 400-500 euros per month, but that would mean cutting out most nights out and other non-essential spending.

I have no debt at all, around 150 euros in bills per month. My biggest money-drainer was my cigarette addiction but I managed somehow to cut that down, from spending 300 euros on cigarettes per month down to around 15 euros per week.

I had a couple of student jobs in the past 2 years but my reckless spending didnt help me save anything. I have nothing in savings and I'm living 'paycheck-to-paycheck'. I have the time to work but I am not finding anything feasible, as I don't have a driver's license and can't commute far without ruining my sleep schedule.

I don't know where to start or what to do, I gradute in october but I doubt I will find a job without doing a Master's degree, which is my plan, but I want to be able to finance atleast a part of my later studies.(I also live abroad).

Honestly I just feel bad for my mother who is slaving away just so I can have a better life, it's my biggest motivation to start my path in becoming financially independent.

Hey everyone. I am a non-EU student in Lux and my student residence permit expired mid-april. since then, I have applied and was granted a renewal, took my photos and fingerprints, and I was supposed to retrieve the new residence card yesterday, the 30th of april.

But for some reason when I arrived there they told me there was a problem with the system and the card didnt arrive to the immigration office, and they told me they dont know when it will arrive, they took my phone number and email address, and they will contact me.

Now the problem is I am scared that it might take too long because next weekend I am supposed to go to Paris to participate in an inter-uni sports competition, but with an expired residence permit I can't go. Does any kind of 'laissez-passer' document exist in my case? I mean my application was accepted and the permit retroactively starts from 16th of April. If anyone has been through that or knows, I would appreciate the help.

(I know I should've asked at the immigration office but at the time I was just pissed and didnt think that I have to get out of Luxembourg soon)
