I was a PCM student in jee batch . Got 98.55%ile in mains getting very decent top 7 nit's ,gave advance got rank of 15.1k , gave iat got rank of 64×

I genuinley want to persue physics research but i dont have any guidance to decide the following . Please answer the questions to help me decide

1)should i compromise branch and go to iit (getting B.S chemical science,Eng Phy,metallurgy and material science etc. at gen-3 iit's )?

2)why is there such stark differnece between closing rank of iiser pune and other iiser's ?

3)would going to iiser kill/reduce chance of me getting a phD from foreign uni ?

4)can i get iiser pune ?

5)if i am not able to get iiser pune then what should i do : iit's or other iisers ?

6)what other similar branches could i do my undergraduate in that kind of run parallel to phy BS (so for eg: courses like mathematics and computing) ?
