I took a freestyle weaving class with Liza Q Wirtz at NY Sheep and Wool a couple of years ago and finally tried it out on my own.
This was really really enjoyable. Slower than standard weaving, but more engaging. I picked a base yarn and some coordinating accents and then just did whatever I felt like doing in the moment. It was really liberating.
I highly recommend Q's classes! Q is a great instructor and a fun person!
Yarn is Madeline Tosh DK in Cactus Flower, Harvest Worsted in blue, and some Koigu Kersti Cashmere scraps and embroidery floss.
Backyard baby skunk highlights from July!
One of my prescriptions came with a huge wad of fluff! I think it was polyester. I haven't done a burn test yet.
This was also my first successful supported spin!
I was really late starting seeds this year. They are technically transplant size now, but it is so hot. Should I wait until fall to put them in the ground?
It is a mush of Anise Hyssop, American Bellflower, and Pale Corydalis (the chipmunks mixed up my rows 😭)
🏆 Dbrand wins this round, but after patches and machine darning, the pants are back in the fight
