pesticide lover

pesticide lover

I finished the song I posted the lyrics to the other day, and I'd like some feedback on the finished product!

Also, I'm having trouble with the audio mixing and would appreciate some tips - for some reason, the vocal track plays at different volumes on different devices.

On my phone speakers the vocals are way too loud and you can barely hear the piano, but on everything else they're too soft and the piano drowns them out.

Is it just my phone? I've never had this problem with any of the other songs I've written. No matter what I do with the volume sliders on Bandlab I can never get it to balance out. I've tested it on about 7 different speakers and devices with different combinations, and got unique results on 5 of them.

I'm more of a lyricist and composer, I don't know much about production. Don't know what mixing actually is or how mastering works, and I've only come this far because it's never been a major issue.

any feedback on these lyrics?

I fell in love,

with a tapeworm

he was the product

of my own behavior

better than wine,

better on paper

worshipping a parasite

like he was my savior

I fell to love

just like an infection

and I starved myself

as a form of protection

he filled me up

and left me feeling empty

painted himself as a saint

just so he could resent me

I fell in love

with a tapeworm

worshipping a parasite

like he was my savior

better than wine,

better on paper

he was the product

of my own behavior

he filled me up

just like an infection

painted himself as a saint

as a form of protection

the early bird

fell in love the worm

one was consumed

and the other bit first

which version of my opening monologue/cut scene should I go with? also, would you play this kind of game?

which art style should I go with? the game is a jrpg with dating sim mechanics heavily inspired by otome games, is basically a love story with branching story lines based on different love interests you can pick from as the game progresses. choices matter and each love interest will have multiple endings. there are currently 6 planned love interests.

would any of you play this kind of game? i've been wanting a game like this for a long time, and never found anything that "scratched that itch" so to speak - so i decided to try making it myself. unlike with other similar games i've seen, the romance itself is the main focus. also, unlike traditional otome visual novels, there will be actual combat and gameplay.
