Beginner using ai

I have been learning Welsh for about 3 weeks and have picked up a reasonable amount of vocabulary. Been using Duolingo, say something in Welsh, learn Welsh podcast and any other resources I can find.

This morning I thought I would concentrate on being more confident with conjugation and non of the resources covered this in an easy way until higher levels.

So I thought I would try Gemini ai and it has really been surprisingly helpful in simple sentence construction.

I am not a fan of learning grammar but I think knowing some basics really helps to get a grip and accelerate learning.

Having looked at and dismissed the ai language tutor apps, I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use Gemini or you own ai app to help consolidate learning.

I hope this will help other beginners with suplementing their learning method.

Best Energy Provider

I've been using Octopus Energy for years now and have found them to be the best UK energy provider bar none.

Customer service is great, I've never had a problem, including when I was going through tough times and wanted to reduce my payments.

I've never shared referral links before, but I genuinely recommend this company.

I am trying to save up to visit my brother who moved to Germany as neither of us are getting any younger.

So if you want to move supplier, get yourself £50 credit and help an old guy out here is my referral link.

How do I start?

Hi all

2 years from retirement and just lost my job because of acute anxiety disorder/PTSD.

So, I've been reading some of the posts here and figured I'm going to have to make a bit of top up money.

My question is where do I start? Is there any good info for beginners? Where would you start?

Thanks in advance 👍

Dark book covers?

Is it just me or does anyone else find that all their book covers are very dark?

I'm on a X4 running crossink with current book cover as the sleep screen. I'm guessing that the colour cover page in the book doesn't render well in greyscale.

Before I look at ways of converting the image manually and editing the book to show the updated image, has anyone come across a global solution to this?

Thanks

Kobo mini question

I don't really need another ereader but find myself drawn to a used kobo mini as a project.

How pocketable is the mini? I like the idea of a 5 inch screen.

Book management question

I'm currently using crossink on the X4.

I have my books ordered by authors with subfolders for series.

This generally works fine but is there a way of seeing locally stored books by authors or series like in the opds browser?

X4 1.3.0 update opds problem

Hi, had opds working fine until I did an ota update to 1.3.0. all seemed to be fine except when I open opds browser I get an Error: failed to fetch feed.

I have reflashed with the online tool, same problem. Also, other feeds, Gutenberg for example don't show up as in the previous firmware.

Probably unrelated but there is also a cursor showing on the sleep screen, lol.

Has anyone else had this problem and come across a solution? Or should I flash the previous firmware, if so, where can it get it?

Hoping someone can shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated.

My prototype cover

Knocked up a quick prototype magnetic cover for my X4 today.

Used pu leather, washers, cardboard and loads of double sided tape.

A bit rough around the edges, but it will do until MK2.
