Hi has anyone made their own shower arm from scratch?

I'd like to know what people's opinions are about commercial grinders such as the Mazzer jolly vs a premium home grinder.

I have an old Quamar m80 (63mm burrs) and I've just bought an old Mahlkönig Vario (Baratza Vario) that I'll repair and refurbish. 54mm ceramic burrs.

Can home grinders compete with traditional commercial grinders in terms of grind size, consistency and taste ?
