New England Says Hi

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are relatively new dancers (just over a year) and have completed mainstream and 1/2 of plus. We were shocked at the huge community around us (VT, MA, NH, ME) and have been really enjoying dancing. https://www.wheresthedance.com/ has events every night and we belong to 3 different clubs.

I have a question for those who call. My wife is interested in being a caller any good resources? I have been playing and expanding the taminations program to support sequencing and have a caller tab for planing.

An ode to my hondas

My 2013 pilot has 170k miles on it. Has survived the worse winters nh can throw at it without ever being garaged and until this year has never had any significant issues. And this years were an alternator, and a transmission line rusted into oblivion.

Before that my gen 1 ridgeline ran 200k without issue.

Starting to look at buying a new car, looked at Kia and Hyundai boards because their suvs are highly rated. Compared to this board it's like night and day. Routinely on the pilot board folks are buying 10 year old cars and loving it, while on the Kia boards folks are trying to convince each other that burning a qt of oil every 1000 miles is normal for older cars.

Thank you I will stick with Honda.

3 Queens now Split

We are relatively new beekeepers with 2 hives, and the state inspector offered to do our inspection and give us some tips. A very nice husband and wife team, both beyond master beekeepers (I am sorry but I didn't quite catch the title, so we have been calling them grand poobahs in the house)

The first hive was in decent shape queen laying, brood cells etc.

The second hive had 3 queens, each in their own area and each laying. They suggested we could split them and create a 3rd or fourth hive, so a quick trip to the hardware store and bam new hive. So we took 2 brood frames and one of the young queens over as well as a honey frame, and nectar and filled the rest with a feeder and waxed but empty frames.

We then added some rocks and changes to the front of the other two frames as well as this one, so everything looked a bit different.

I know it takes a few days for the new hive to settle out, Is there anything else we should be doing?
