Newbie here. Help finding topical products?

Forgive me, I am not super familiar with terms, what I should be asking for, etc. I’m fairly new to THC products, been taking low dose edibles for almost a year now to help manage chronic pain. I deal with fairly frequent pinched nerves due to some spinal disc compression. I do not have a medical card.

Is anyone aware of any good topical products they’d recommend that I can pickup in the cities? Do they exist outside of a medical dispensary? Edibles help, and help me sleep, but I can’t function on them during the day 😕 thank you!

Grief and guilt before euthanasia?

This is Deigh, my 16.5 yo flame point that I adopted as a kitten. My first ever pet as an adult. He’s the best boy, but has had rough health streak for a few years. Multiple emergency visits, a stroke and a CT, 4 dental procedures to remove multiple teeth, rough recoveries and last week we were given the diagnosis of amyloid-producing odontogenic tumor in his skull, located beneath his eye and roof of his mouth. It’s painful and aggressive. He’s in pain and even being on heavy doses of gabapentin and bupenorhpine for the last month, he continues to pull at his face/eye area indicating major pain, struggles to eat the wet food “soup”, has lost 4lbs in the last month, and is having diarrhea on himself almost every morning. The only option left available would be to remove a large part of his facial bone, likely his eye, and hope he can make it through surgery and recovery. Any cancer cells left means reoccurrence. After a 45 min appt with his vet he’s had since he was a baby, we knew we have just been delaying the inevitable.
We’ve made the horribly difficult decision to put him down tomorrow before things get much worse. I don’t want him in pain, I don’t want him wasting away, I don’t want to keep him here so high on meds he can’t function. I don’t want to keep him here only for the pain to become so great we have to put him down under emergency circumstances. I know this is the right decision, his vet agrees. But I can’t help to feel this overwhelming sense of guilt mixed with horrible sadness for my best friend and companion for the last 16 years. I’ve been a distraught mess for the last week. Does that guilty feeling ever go away?

Cat emergency = first time focaccia

Well, it’s hot in MN so I haven’t baked in a couple weeks. Spent Saturday AM getting my loaf put together (100g starter, 500g KAF bread flour, 350g water and 14g salt) and unfortunately had to run the cat to the emergency room while my loaf was proofing. Got home 5 hours later (bread had been proofing for 7 hours now) to wayyyyy over proofed dough. I covered it and chucked it in the fridge. Sunday I figured I would at least try focaccia with my sad dough. Pulled it out, followed the 2nd half of this recipe https://alexandracooks.com/2018/03/02/overnight-refrigerator-focaccia-best-focaccia/

And it honestly turned out better than expected! Bright spot in a rough weekend. So moral of the story, don’t chuck it out, try focaccia! (Featuring 1/2 rosemary 1/2 dried shallot and maldon salt)
