Bluetooth connecting/disconnecting repeatedly

Just started using the AAWireless dongle in my 2019 Honda Civic. All going fine but there is one thing I just wanted to check.

For short, local trips I don't bother opening the ICE screen on the car which means it does not launch AA. Instead it remains with a vanilla Bluetooth connection between car and phone and I can still happily play music/podcasts from my phone using the steering wheel controls to Play/Pause/Skip etc while the screen defaults to a wallpaper with clock display.

But ... I have noticed from the Macrodroid user log on my phone that while I am doing this that the AAWireless dongle is repeatedly connecting / disconnecting with Bluetooth to my phone. Once every 30 seconds. Is this normal, expected behaviour? Is there any simple trick to automate this not happening?

Unplugging the dongle would work but a bit of a faff to keep doing that and I am quite happy to let it happen for these short trips as long as the dongle is happy and not suffering in the long term.

Providing free water bottles for dot com drivers

Good of managers to provide free water bottles. Bad to think that the small water bottles are anyway near going to touch the sides in the hot weather we have been having. Provide the 2L bottles or don't bother.

As it happens I carry two of my own large drinks bottles which I refill in the morning and at lunchtime but not all my colleagues think to be prepared.

Boots getting the boot ... again

Just had to order another new pair of safety boots as the current pair are falling apart after just eighteen months working as a dot com driver. Is it reasonable to expect boots to last a lot longer than that?

Dressing for the World Cup?

Went into work this evening to find the staff room had been dressed ready for the World Cup with special tablecloths etc.

But! There was an England flag over the TV but NO Scotland flag! Absolutely outrageous! 😡

(I am one third Scottish and two thirds English)

CCwGGTV dongle Youtube sound issue

Watched some HBO Max content this morning, all fine. Then switched to watch some Youtube content and got pictures but no sound. Tried a few other apps and they all had sound.

Eventually power-cycled the dongle and now all is fine with sound on YT. Wondering what happened here? Did notice a recent update to one of the Google media apps which underlie the system so could this have got confused with some mild temporary data corruption perhaps. Strange it only seems to have affected YT.

BBC Sounds update fail?

Never had an update on my Chromecast dongle fail before. Eventually did an un/re-install of the app which worked fine. Happily the app retained its position on the home screen and kept me logged in.

Stopped a couple of years ago and I have been having to make trips over to the store in the next town to feed my habit!
