Please see the video. I have a steel door in a garage in a house I purchased. I took the cylinder out and had it re-keyed at a local locksmith because there wasn’t a key available. But for some reason, the door handle still opens the deadbolt. Any reason why this is happening?
Hi, first off, big Velotric fan here. We bought a pair of Discover 1's in September 2023, and we pedal 80-90% of the time, and the battery will easily lasts 90-100 miles (we leave it on Power 3 and the gear always stays on #5). Because I got tired of hauling the bikes back and forth between Florida and Michigan, and breaking my back stuffing them into our minivan, we decided to purchase a pair of Fold 1's with the idea that we could more easily fit these in our van and take them to state parks. They arrived in May this year (2026), and after a couple rides I have noticed the battery in the Fold 1 is definitely not the same as our Discover 1.
For example, this morning I went for a 22 mile ride on the Fold 1, had 3/4 of a battery (per the display), and I kept it on Power 3 and gear 5. I am always pedaling, just like we do on the Discover 1, 80-90% of the time. But at the end of the 22 miles, I was down to one bar of battery. This is the 4th ride and it has consistently been the same.
I am baffled as to why. Looking up the battery specs online (Claude) I see the following:
Velotric Discover 1: 48V, 14.4Ah, ~692Wh battery (Samsung/Tesla-grade 21700 cells), UL 2271 certified, IPX7-rated, removable — rated for up to 65 miles range.
Velotric Fold 1: 48V, 12.6Ah, ~608Wh battery (18650 cells, UL 2580 certified), UL 2271 certified, IPX7-rated, removable — rated for up to 55 miles range.
It looks like the Discover 1 has more cells and a higher Wh spec, so is that why?
Anybody else notice similar battery drain on the Fold 1 or Fold 1 Plus?
