Shooting around Old Greenville Road/Old County Parish Road/Fairforest

Anyone know anything about the shooting that happened at 4pm near the Valley Creek apartments? I live in the complex and heard 1 gunshot, there’s police everywhere taking statements etc. but I’m not clear on what happened except that someone may have died. It seems possible that the shooter(s) could be at large still, I saw a tracking K-9. Stay safe y’all!!

I’m a hot sleeper, but my partner is always cold. what fabric should our bedsheets be made of?

im always hot and when i sleep i wake up drenched in sweat, but i’ve been hesitant about getting sheets in some of the cooling fabrics i’ve heard about, as some can apparently be too cold to be of comfortable use in winter? my partner is cold regardless of the season so im concerned sheets like that may make him feel colder

is there a good in-between fabric in existence? even if it isn’t cooling, a fabric that can at least absorb sweat easily or something? are there any fabrics that would make my overheating issue worse that i should avoid?

are fire alarms going off for seemingly no reason common in apartments? how do you know to evacuate or not?

sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my first apartment and after moving in i learned that this place has a history of fires (3 within the last few years…2 arson, not sure about the 3rd. 1 was even our specific unit).

the fire alarm has briefly gone off once or twice before. it just went off a little bit ago, but for longer than it ever has (to the point i was gathering my things + about to shove my cat into his carrier). also was saying “fire” over and over, which i’ve never heard it do. im not sure if it was ours or neighbors above/below/nearby us. i went outside our door and didn’t see or smell anything.

im presuming that if there’s a real fire it wouldn’t stop, right? would it just keep going until whatever set it off is gone? im just SO paranoid about fires here, im worried about dismissing the alarm and then one day there is actual danger that i dont find out about until it’s really bad :(
