every dose increase brings me back to square 1

after 4 weeks on 50mg i was JUST starting to feel like i was balancing out, my anxiety was still really bad but i was making small progress. I went up to 60mg 2 days ago and i feel like i just reset all progress i made. I feel fragile, panicky and jittery again.

I know i needed a higher dose but now is it going to be another month of hell before I feel decent?

did going from 50mg to 60mg fix anybody?

particularly for severe anxiety/panic disorder. I think the medication is helping just painfully slowly and i think i need a high dose. I was on 200-250mg of zoloft for 15 years. For now my doctor wants to bump me to 60mg after being on 50 for about a month.

50mg not doing anything

i’ve been on 50mg for 3 weeks and i’m losing my patience. i’ve been working my way up from 10mg and a cross taper from 250mg zoloft and i can’t tell if the prozac is doing anything tbh. I’m so anxious all of the time about being alone or feeling sick it’s taking over my life.

Did anyone with severe anxiety/panic need 60-80mg to see a difference? I switched from zoloft because after 15 great years it stopped working as well but now i regret ever switching at all.

how long into your correct dose did you think “wait this is working”

I switched from 250mg zoloft and did a crosstaper onto 10mg prozac, then 20, 30, 40 and it’s been about two weeks since i’ve been on 50.

The lower doses were def not doing enough but that wasn’t shocking since i required such a high dose of zoloft but my doctor didn’t want to throw me on like 80mg right away.

I’m really trying to push myself. Take klonopin when needed. but i’m still not feeling much relief. My husband and parents think i’ve generally been doing better but i just can’t tell from the inside.

Did you have a moment where things really clicked? I’m so sick of waiting to feel somewhat normal again.

Restless leg syndrome

I’ve had rare nights of RLS in the past but since i’ve increased to 40mg then 50mg it’s every night and i can’t fall asleep until 4am. i don’t get it when i nap during the day, only at night.

Will this go away after some time? I know exercise generally helps but it happens no matter what just wondering if it’s temporary.

if you increased dose for anxiety, how long until you got some relief?

30mg isn’t doing anything for my anxiety. Doc thinks i need to increase to a dose more suitable for severe anxiety before giving up on Prozac.

They want me to take 40mg for three days (on day 2 of this) and then go to 50mg (I was previously on an extremely high dose of zoloft for years. so not new to SSRIs)

did a dose increase do the trick for you? if so, when did your anxiety become more manageable?

Severe anxiety ppl - what dose are you on?

I’ve been on Zoloft 250mg for 14 years. Switched to prozac from a crosstaper, have been on just 30mg Prozac for a month. I feel awful. 2-3 panic attacks a day, constant shaking and heart pounding, terrified of being alone.

Met with a new psychiatrist for a second opinion if this medication is right for me. She basically said 30mg of Prozac is like equivalent to 75mg zoloft, and i was on 250mg. She thinks this dose just isn’t touching my anxiety and that I should up the dose rather than trying a new med all together.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I can’t tell if I just hate this medication or if she’s right and i just need to be closer to a 60-80mg dose to get back to where i was.

Prozac is hell

I was on Zoloft for 14 years and it worked really well for my anxiety until the last year or so, when it seemed to lose effectiveness even at 250mg.

I switched to Prozac in February and am now on 30mg, but after several months I haven’t seen any improvement. My anxiety and panic attacks are still frequent, they honestly have been getting worse.

I’m considering asking my psychiatrist about Lexapro at my next appointment. Has anyone had Prozac not work for them but then had success with Lexapro? I’d love to hear your experiences.

Think I'm giving up on Prozac

GAD/panic disorder, switched from Zoloft 250mg after 15 great years it started to not work much anymore. Been on Prozac for 12 weeks now, increased to 30mg a month ago and really not feeling any progress. In fact, it feels alot worse around my period, so two weeks out of the month have gotten even worse. Is it time to give up? I feel like im going crazy.

not working or need more time?

Started 10mg 2/27
Increased to 20mg 3/23
Increased to 30mg 4/30

I’ve had better days and then horrid days. It always seems like beginning two weeks of the month is good and then the last two weeks I get hit with awful anxiety. Could it be related to my cycle?

Is this medication just not for me or do I need to give it more time? My anxiety is so bad I want to crawl out of my skin.

I was on Zoloft previously for 15 years until the last year it just didn’t work anymore.

Losing hope

After 15 years Zoloft stopped working for me. I started Prozac end of Feb and I was making slow but steady progress. I’ve gone from 10mg to 20mg to now 30mg starting three weeks ago. I had a really bad panic attack on Sunday and I feel like i just can’t snap out of it. The morning anxiety had faded when I went up to 30mg but since Sunday I can’t shake it and I feel like i’m back at square one. I’m so discouraged, and extremely panicky all day. Did anyone else have slip ups but had a med ultimately work for them? Do i just need more time?

I was on an OCD level dose of Zoloft (250mg) for my GAD/panic disorder for 15 years and it worked great until it just didn’t anymore. Been on Prozac for 2 months, cross tapered with zoloft but did 10mg then 20mg for the last month. I definitely feel improvement but I don’t think i am where i need to be. When did you increase? How do you know you needed to?
