Hi, I'm learning how to do reballing and I'm trying to get this ram chip off of this old phone board. No matter what I do it doesn't budge and I'm wondering if anyone could offer advice?

I've heated the board to 150 before using my hot air station

I've tried with flux

I've tried with a knife to remove any adhesive from around the chip

My temp and fan speed on the hot air station was 380/30 and then I tried 380/50

For the life of me I can't get this thing to budge.

Whaaaaa 4 apps at the same time on the Microsoft Surface Duo running Android 16?! 😂

Not sure who would ever do this but this is so cool to have working. Works with rotation too!

The ROM is still in progress, buggy and not ready due to the port of the Duo framework being more work than I thought it would be. I am about 70% of the way through but I thought I would share an update.

I return with more goodies. LineageOS 23.2 on the original Surface Duo 🎉

A16 is surprisingly smooth on the duo 2. Right now the build appears stable with just the base rom (no duo specific customizations yet). I'm still surprised I was able to get the webcam feature working, I thought it wouldn't.

Took a break from the duo 2 to get the Duo1 started.

No this is not a GSI 😊 this makes my 3rd port that is in progress.

I'll continue my porting efforts on LineageOS (A16/A17), OpenHarmony, and PostmarketOS.

And again these will come to the Duo1 as well.

All 3 have made significant progress. Been a weird but fun process to get all 3 up and running.
