Struggling to Record Sound in Davinci Via Interface
I've got my Focusrite Scarlett connected to my mac. I've got signal into the interface, signal in Sounds on my Mac, I've patched from the interface to my track but when I arm for record I get no signal in Davinci.
Where am I going wrong?

Mac OS 15.7.7

Anyone using Davinci as a DAW and does it get easier after version 17?
I’ve recently been working on some music after several years break and I decided to use Davinci as I don’t want to buy Logic yet in case this song is a one off. I used to use Logic 9.
I’m still on Davinci 17 free and it’s a little clunky to use as a DAW. I only need super basic functions though, I’m cutting and pasting 808 samples and recording basic guitar and bass tracks and it’s getting the job done. I wanted to make a piece of music to go alongside a super short match cut reel idea and decided to make it directly in Davinci.
Does it get much better as a DAW? I’m liking the idea of doing everything all in one box. Obviously I need to upgrade Davinci and if it works reasonably well as a DAW it’s probably also time to pay for the studio version. As long as it works with a 2020 MacBook Air M1.
I think the only real issue I’ve had so far is I had a plugin where it wouldn’t render the GUI.
