Empty steel rehaut makes the watch feel cheap, lazy, and low-effort

This mostly applies to dive watches and sports watches, but if I can see a noticeable steel rehaut between the glass and the dial, it makes the watch look cheap.

Alignment QC issues aside, my Seiko divers with actual chapter rings look and feel a lot more thought out than some of my swiss divers without any markings or chapter rings. Heck, I had a cheapo Aliexpress Addiesdive watch that just had an unmarked but dial-color-matched black "chapter ring" covering the rehaut and even THAT looked better than nothing.

If a dive watch is going to ask for premium price, there's no reason to NOT have a properly placed chapter ring to cover that metal wall - unless they are intentionally homaging certain vintage models.

Please feel free to disagree.

Crooked crown on D5

Hey folks, first time posting here.

I have a D5 pacific that I recently started wearing a lot, and only recently noticed that the crown seemed a bit crooked when pulled all the way out to the time setting position. I can't see enough of the stem to check if the stem itself is bent or just the crown head.

Doesn't feel grindy or weird when adjusting the time or when winding, which is why I only recently noticed it. I'm super careful with my watches so Im 100% sure I never banged it or put undue pressure on it.

Asked Vaer and they told me that this COULD be manufacturing variance. Since it doesn't feel off ajd everything functions smooth, they said it's likely not a cause for concern but to let them know if something DOES go wrong.

The watch is already years old and runs with no issue so Im not immediately concerned. Im also located overseas so I'll probably only resort to send it in for repair IF something does go wrong. but just wanted to check if anyone has similar experience or know this can be a problem with continued use.

I think I watched basically all D5 YouTube reviews and some did note wobbly crown. This one isn't wobbly - just crooked. The angle stays when turning the crown but screws in fine.

Any anecdote or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Nightreign ruined regular Elden Ring for me, but not for gameplay mechanics

I've hit almost 800 hours in Nightreign and this game taught me so much about base game Elden Ring mechanics, weapons, items, etc. that I had never even considered or thought about that I actually got excited to go back to Elden Ring again for another playthrough.

I've heard a lot of people talk about getting re-adjusted to having fall damages, crouching while trying to sprint, etc., but my biggest disappointment now is how lame my character looks and moves.

The customized drip and animations of the nightfarers are so good that even the armor sets I thought looked great in the base game now looks crappy in comparison. The default one-size-fits-all pose and animation just look blocky now. I'm just playing as John Person and it's bothering me more than I imagined.

So now I'm back playing Nightreign.

Titanium caseback/thread longevity?

I've heard good things about titanium as a matetial and am in the market for titanium quartz divers. WD NTTD seafarers is looking like a strong candidate.

I know without some kind of coating titanium does show scratches easier, and Im fine with that.

The only issue Im worried about is crown and caseback threading. There was a titanium seamaster homage a few years back (I think it was heimdallr) that had pretty bad issue of crown thread stripping with normal use because they didn't think it through and didn't use stainless steel tube for threading (i think that was the explanation).

Similar issue with another Chinese brand titanium watch that I forget the name of, but with caseback - stripped upon trying to re-close after battery change.

Are these known issues with watchdives Ti models as well?
