Wish I would have measured/weighed this. How does one determine if a trout is stocked or wild?
Hey all,
We are purchasing our dream home on the snake river (Idaho falls area). I fished plenty with family when I was younger but it’s been many years and I’ve certainly never been a fisherman.
I absolutely plan to fish as much as possible on this property. I dream of eating fresh caught trout every week.
My understanding is that this stretch of the river is very deep, and the current is strong. Like much of the river, it’s dominated by rainbow and brown trout. But bass, whitefish and perch are also common. I understand that sturgeon is possible here.
I would love some direction on:
— Education. I am someone who deeply appreciates understanding foundational concepts — the why. I also appreciate structured training that builds on the prior concept. So if anyone has any great resources — YouTube playlists, books, courses, etc., I’d love to hear them. I’m happy to pay within reason.
— Gear. My first and primary goal is to fish my backyard. So I’d like to start with a set up suited for my area and suited to trout specifically. Rainbow trout to be precise as i understand they are most abundant.
— Any insights on this particular stretch of river would be hugely appreciated. Likewise, any resource for learning about the snake river as a whole.

I've been struggling to find a Thunderbolt 4 dock that would work with my LG 40WP95C-W (5120x2160) without losing the full resolution. Every dock I looked at was marketed as "dual 4K" or "single 8K" support—nothing explicitly mentioned 5K2K.
Does anyone know if this dell dock will work? It DOES list 5k2k, but I'm not sure what weird stuff mac is doing and whether or not I'll have issues.
