First time setting up Jellyfin + Kodi (LibreELEC) - Movies section is empty, but Collections work fine. Any ideas?
Hi everyone, it's my first time setting this up!
I recently got a Lenovo ThinkCentre M710q running Ubuntu Server, with Jellyfin deployed via Portainer/Docker. Everything runs smoothly when streaming to my PC and other devices.
I installed the Kodi Sync Queue plugin on Jellyfin because my goal is to use a Raspberry Pi 4 running LibreELEC/Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi add-on on my living room TV.
I set up the Pi and everything seems to work, except for one issue: after connecting the add-on to the server and completing the initial library sync (I currently only have a Movies library and 3 Collections), nothing shows up in the main Movies section of Kodi.
I tried a database reset, library repair, and full resync, but nothing changed. Then I noticed something strange:
In Kodi, if I enter the "Movies" menu, there are sub-categories like "Movies", "Recently Added", etc. Clicking them does nothing. However, there is a "Files" folder containing another sub-menu with those same categories, plus a "Collections" folder.
This Collections folder works perfectly — I can see all 3 of my collections and play all the movies i put in them with full artwork and metadata.
What could be causing this? Is this a known issue with the Jellyfin for Kodi add-on? Should I switch from Add-on mode to Native mode?
Any help would be appreciated cause I'm new in this world! Thanks!
