Kings Island Ranking + Discussion
Went to Kings Island June 29th-July 2nd, rode everything, and heres my ranking. I was previously here in 2024 but at that time I was too scared to ride Diamondback, Orion, and the line for FoF was too long.
*: Felt like it got WAY faster from 2024.
Adventure Express not mentioned because it’s counterintuitive to this ranking in my opinion.
12th: Woodstock Air Rail. Rough Vekoma Hang-n-bang. Not a fan, but I used to be as a kid.
None of the coasters going forward are below a 7/10
11th: *Woodstock Express. Had way more kick than I remember, very good, I got a lot of airtime and force in the back.
10th. The Racer. Janky, good airtime, and no wait. Day one had really bad jackhammering, but it got better, what more could you wish for from a 1972 coaster.
9th: Invertigo. Very fun, scary and not bad, just had a family member black-out on it, so i only got to re-ride it once.
8th: BACKLOT (not queencity) Stunt Coaster. Great ride, the triple helix has a lot of solid g-forces. The removal of the flames, plus getting stapled on purpose by a worker on one of my rides ruined that experience a little.
7th: *Mystic Timbers. Would be higher if the shed wasn’t so stupid, great airtime, and a tight turny style layout, good but I get stapled almost every ride, the restraints suck.
This Part gets 10x difficult, everything here is interchangeable and 9.5+ out of 10.
6th: Flight of Fear. Would be higher if the queue wasn’t an hour. So I only got to ride it once, but it was awesome and definitely in the conversation of best in the park.
5th: *The Beast. Simply an awesome and beautiful ride. I sat in the last car in the left seat (on purpose) and I get BEAT up, but I honestly love it, I do think they need to fix the second helix though, because my only complaint is that it feels like every time I get into a small car accident, but other than that, i like getting beat up by it.
4th: *The Bat. It got SO MUCH faster, I love being flung around on it, and it feels magical every time I rode it, In my opinion a top tier coaster
3rd 🥉: Banshee. Simply incredible, it’ll beat you up with 4.5Gs but it’s honestly worth it, before my 2026 visit i went in 24’ and rode it like 10 times, and I matched or doubled that. Absolutely love it, when it has no line, I will say though i can get stapled pretty easily, and I sat in the cyan train very back right, and It was a awful experience, but the front row is so good it makes up for it.
2nd 🥈: Diamondback. I sit in the back every time, and holy crap, Its so awesome, being thrown over the first lift hill and all the airtime moments makes it feel alive.
1st 🥇: Orion, might be a hot take, but I LOVE speed, not to mention how much absolute ejector airtime there is in the very back, and the helix towards the end makes me grey out every time and I LOVE it.
But does anyone know why they felt so much faster?
