We finally got our goof to lock in, a predictable outcome given how not so subtle they were with the signs he'd be returning, but it was nice to see Benji really lock in for a change as he had a fantastic episode and some great dynamics with Anastasia and Ally today.

They were the peak duo this episode, lot of taking points are gonna focus on the elimination or certain messy topics, but I want to highlight this dynamic. Ren teaching Fiore how to chuck rock knives and encourage her even as Fiore struggled at times was precious.

Hey there, been a while huh? Life has kept me busy and the summer work shift is no joke, but, back once again for another little fic promotion. This time it is another treat of Murphy_Wesley_Bliss, Disventure Camp 6: Hollywood Stars!
This fic is a comp fic following the author's All-Stars Rewrite, Disventure Camp All-Stars: Reignited. Features an entirely original cast of characters playing in a Total Drama Action inspired film lot location that takes plenty of advantage of its setting. Lot of fun film references and the author does use each genre to create a set of fun challenges that always have a bit to them which even as someone who never really reads a DC Comp fic for the challenges, is a fun highlight. But the star here not unlike the author's older OC fic is the cast, just a well defined and fun batch of characters who play off each other well and are well defined. Even the early boots leave enough of an impression to care and this fic perhaps has some of my fav villains in a comp fic OC or not. The author takes every lesson he's learn from past fics to make something more polished and just a total blast to read.
So yeah, I would 100% recommend you guys check this out. And while I do believe you can jump into this fic by itself without having to read the AS fic, I am also gonna link up Reignited as well as the author does have the cast make occasional references to past seasons including the two seasons (And well remaster of one) he has or is writing. Besides, All-Stars: Reignited might be my fav All-Stars comp fic period so consider it a bonus recommendation well worth a read on its own.

Look, I love Lake and feel that she's gotten a lot of unfair flack ever since this beef with Spencer had begun. Even before Lake legit had done anything really wrong, people were already giving her a hard time just for daring to be a vocal critic against Spencer. Not even the first character this has happened to in this fandom, but even as someone with that bias I have to draw just confusion over this recent episode and confessional out of her. Cause, what do you mean Rosa is "consumed by revenge" Lake?
How has Rosa acted in such a way to net this kind of concern from Lake? Cause outside of working with Spencer and like giving one smug face during Natalia/Gabby/Tom's in fighting on the Benji boot episode (An episode where Rosa was a target of the other side I should add) she really hasn't done anything to justify this worry or fear from Lake. Rosa still more or less acts like herself, hell she even takes Lake's concerns into account and tries to mediate with how Spencer has acted which to her credit, has had him reflect a bit. And even as Lake's own confessional here shows Rosa wanting revenge on Natalia is pretty darn justified. Natalia just lied to Lake's face about agreeing to vote Lake's way only to go for her agenda, something Lake seems entirely willing to just overlook as well as Natalia being entirely unapologetic of how she hurt Rosa.
It really does feel like in Lake's mind, working with Spencer in itself is a clear sign she is "consumed by revenge" cause it feels entirely baseless otherwise. I certainly hope this is presented as Lake projecting, because the best thing for her character right now is a gut check to realize how much her petty grudge with Spencer is hurting her not vice versa at this point.
Frankly, I need Lake to bring this concern to Rosa, and I need Rosa to counter (In a more tempered way than I would) that maybe the person who went behind their alliance's back and broke her word to her for her own personal grudge is the one at risk of being consumed by revenge. Cause this move was shadier than anything Rosa has done this season.

Girl, I love you but this Spencer thing is getting honestly unhealthy. When you hate someone so much and are so scared to ever vote off any of your "friends" in this game you will go behind your alliance's back to push for a vote on him it gets to a point where your moral high horse is quite the facade.

And I have once more returned to share my latest fanfic rec, this time it is Disventure Camp Presents: The Isle of Insanity by DarkWolf573!
This fic is a follow up to the author's All-Stars Rewrite, Disventure Camp All-Stars; Revamped but not unlike the Season 3 fic by Murphy this season is made with a totally original cast. The setup is this season is sort of a companion season made up of Carnival of Chaos "rejects" given their own second chance to star in a season airing alongside it and do they make the most of it. This fic crafts an original field of new players and I feel the cast overall is quite strong with a wide range of personalities from the more tender emotional players to the cruel sort you want to get theirs to of course the true strategic threats and everything in-between. The cast really is the highlight of this fic and their dynamics off each other and flips to expected tropes of the series or certain archetypes keep you guessing what happens next in a good way.
Naturally it has some mentions of the previous season (And reading Revamp can make it a more enhanced experience) but IMO it is not required to enjoy this work and an easy recommendation from me so check it out when you guys can afford to.
