And I have once more returned to share my latest fanfic rec, this time it is Disventure Camp Presents: The Isle of Insanity by DarkWolf573!
This fic is a follow up to the author's All-Stars Rewrite, Disventure Camp All-Stars; Revamped but not unlike the Season 3 fic by Murphy this season is made with a totally original cast. The setup is this season is sort of a companion season made up of Carnival of Chaos "rejects" given their own second chance to star in a season airing alongside it and do they make the most of it. This fic crafts an original field of new players and I feel the cast overall is quite strong with a wide range of personalities from the more tender emotional players to the cruel sort you want to get theirs to of course the true strategic threats and everything in-between. The cast really is the highlight of this fic and their dynamics off each other and flips to expected tropes of the series or certain archetypes keep you guessing what happens next in a good way.
Naturally it has some mentions of the previous season (And reading Revamp can make it a more enhanced experience) but IMO it is not required to enjoy this work and an easy recommendation from me so check it out when you guys can afford to.

Back again with another entry in my little fanfic showcase series, this time the recommended reading I want to put out there is Disventure Camp: All-Stars Redone done by PaperZeldi13.
An All-Stars Rewrite, probably the most common type of Disventure Camp Fic based on my reading list, but a quality one which is never something to sneeze at. This fic is not afraid to shake up the boot order, having some names go earlier than canon while others who bit the dust sooner get renewed life and has some fantastic character work and fresh dynamics among the cast that I just adore. Players like James and Lake especially benefit from this. Author isn't even shy putting new spins on what are some more tired plotlines such as a YulGrett story with an actually more positive relationship and more interesting Yul in general than you typically see in comp fics, especially AS ones.
So I 100% recommend you guys check it out, as while I can't say everything I like about it without more overt spoilers, I can tell you it is a good time and that is always worth me giving my stamp of recommendation towards.

Hey there, gonna try a new little series to funnel some more content here and also just try to help promote fics I've been following that I think you guys should check out.
The first fic I have is a little gem made by Murphy_Wesley_Bliss, figured it is only fitting to give a shoutout to a co-author and friend of mine not that I need such incentive to say you should check this out.
This fic is basically a what if DC had a third season before Disventure Camp All-Stars using a completely original cast of characters? OC fics tend to not get the attention they deserve in this community and it is a shame, as Murphy is quite talented in crafting a fun and dynamic cast of characters that bounce off each other well and really sell you on their charm as you read about them. This fic also has a fun set of challenges many original ones including one of the better spins of a VR comp I've read and there is a lot of passion behind this that I find infectious. This also is a little fun lead in to the author's All-Stars fic to better get your familiar with some key players who make the jump to that fic but that one is a shoutout story for another day~
So I cannot recommend enough you guys give this a read. Better yet, the author is actually doing a remaster version of this given it is one of their older fics so I'll link the completed BETA but also the Remaster below it as one is a fun and complete experience and the other makes a great jumping on point that I cannot say you should pass.

Newer sort of fan having caught up to the series on a binge, great show, but figure I should try to make a post here just to get a feel for things.
One sort of interesting talking point I've heard about this season is around Hank Henshaw "selling his soul" or the idea Luthor is more in control of the guy possibly than Hank himself. Lois even seems to show a concern and shock when she asks why Hank is doing this on Lex's big reveal this past episode.
But like, wasn't Hank always like this?
Lois should know. Last season Hank made a big anti-alien stink against Superman during the most desirable bachelor contest that she was present for. So he wasn't exactly shy sharing how he feels about Superman and joined this little anti-Superman coalition willingly with Waller and Luthor. And this was well before he got any cybernetics added to him.
This just feels like who Hank has always been just well, he now has the power to act on his "mission" as it were.

Yeah, think this episode just cements Sam as a bad person. The kind of player Lake thinks Spencer is, but for real.
It is one thing to betray an ally or to take out a threat when the chance presents itself. But for Sam to look Dunia in the eye and promise to have her back, to assure her and make her beleive they were friends, only to stab her in the back and give this reaction when the votes came her way. That is heartless.
Man is a menace, and I adore it. A top tier DC villain moment.
