One of the nastiest cases of plot armor this show has ever seen but it’s Fiore so people don’t care

Fiore just happened to hang on a bamboo the moment the other group confirmed their target AND when Ally randomly decided to pull out her idol? Wtf? I can confidently say that people would have been much angrier had it not been Fiore.

What if-?

What if Natalia gave the idol to Ara and Are uses it, Natalia expect it to not work but Emily decides the idol is valid because eliminated contestants aren't comsidered like contestants and Ara's idol work ane Natalia got voted out for exemple ?

By the way, since when can't you steal an idol?

Honestly, I think Lake is really overhated.

I actually like what they're doing with Lake because it's showing her flaws, and since the move she makes massively backfire, I think this one is actually portrayed as a flaw.

Her wanting to stick to her morals even if it means she goes against Rosa and ultimately is the reason the vote was split, is an interesting direction for her character.

And while Lake's beef with Spencer is somewhat petty, it also feels very natural for her character because of how different she is from Spencer. And with the circumstances set up, I think this misplay from her makes complete sense. Rosa's grudge on Natalia is reasonable, but Lake believes that Rosa has become consumed by revenge... Which is exactly what Lake did when she tried to eliminate Spencer.

Lake went to Natalia not because she necessarily likes her. But because she HATES Spencer.

And Lake doesn't necessarily distrust Rosa, but she believes that her quest for revenge has clouded her judgement.

Just like how Lake's quest for revenge has clouded her own judgement.

Lake has not adapted very well to the game, and that is one of her flaws in her strategy and it feeds into her flaws in personality.

Is Lake being a hypocrite here? Yes. She is doing the exact same thing that Rosa is doing. Rosa worked with Spencer wanting to get rid of Nat. And Lake worked with Nat (or a least tried to) wanting to get rid of Spencer, even if it meant destroying her majority.

But I don't mind Lake having this hypocrisy. Because it gives her a character flaw. And flawed characters are infinitely more interesting than a perfect person who can do no wrong. (See Tristan from S4 and how little I care about them for having zero flaws.)

I honestly think this is really good for Lake's character. And I am very happy that she is making the merge, because I have really enjoyed her in this season.

Anastasia should have been booted in DC5 EP4 tbh

Honestly I think “too much screen time” is a term that is extremely overused to the point where it’s almost meaningless. But honestly, by objective measure, Anastasia in Disventure Camp 5 did get a rather disproportionate amount of focus for what her plot ultimately ended up being. Even up to now, her line count in seven episodes is comparable to the twelve who’ll have twice as many.

And also, hot take but Anastasia this season is a big downgrade from her Disventure Camp 4 showing. She’s a borderline Mary Sue nowadays who had all of her growth offscreen between seasons, faced little real struggle, and was shed of almost all the traits that had made her one of the most compelling characters in the show.

Cutting her earlier would have given the Favorites team more conflict earlier on, vastly improved the build up to Alec’s elimination, and would have allowed for at least some more Ally / Benji crumbs that we didn’t get because a writer decided we needed to see Natalia get unjustifiably villainized for not blindly trusting someone who she has mostly bad history with. But that’s something that merits a post of its own lmao.

Since we’re at the halfway point of the season, do you think has been the biggest waste of space so far???(Image not even close to being related)

And speaking of Alec & Anastasia, it’s depressing on how these two have done a lot more during their short stays then a good portion of the favorites that are still in😭😭😭😭

No, because this was lowkey one of my favorite scenes from the episode:

Both characters took accountability and showed great self-awareness. Nura pointed out that it wouldn't really make sense for her to be mad at Oliwia since she also contributed to Dunia's elimination because of beef with Ren. Oliwia actually showed that she took Ren's words to heart, and the first thing that Oliwia did when Nura told her that she wanted to be alone was to give her space. She also acknowledged that she hasn't been good company because of her possessive and overbearing attachment to people.

Nura was nice in a moment in which she could have said to Oliwia to fuck off and exclude herself from fault from Dunia's elimination, having an irritating behavior towards people because of the turmoil that happened. Oliwia could have taken Ren's words in the wrong way and failed to see what he was trying to convey, behaving with Nura similarly to how she behaved with Ren.

This was an unexpected but really sweet and tender moment in which two people showed respect to each other despite the circumstances and just enjoyed their company in silence. Simple, yet a very effective scene because of what it meant for both characters, especially for Oliwia (a turning point in the way she handles and understands friendship).

I actually liked Oliwia this episode. Gosh, I have a tug-of-war relationship with her. There are some episodes in which she genuinely pisses me off, but there are instances like this in which I feel for her. Hopefully, she keeps evolving as a person and truly takes in and verbalizes the fact that the way she viewed friendships was unhealthy.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Lake is responsible for the fall of his alliance.

Since the last episode, I’ve seen a lot of people holding Lake responsible for the collapse of her alliance, but I don’t think that’s entirely the case.

First of all, I want to clarify something. Lake does bear some responsibility for this elimination. She made a terrible move by wanting to vote out a member of her own alliance and let herself get overwhelmed by her emotions. But it’s easy to understand why Lake made that decision.

Lake is naive. She grew up in a rather terrible family, yet one that provided her with a certain sense of security. Consequently, she didn't face the same struggles as other contestants like Riya or Ellie.

After leaving home, her book became a success if I recall correctly bringing her privileges she doesn't seem to realize she has.

You can see this in her reaction to her elimination in All Stars: she doesn't understand why someone would compromise their principles to advance in the game, because she has never faced that kind of hardship and managed to succeed while staying true to herself. In fact, had she stayed longer in *All Stars*, Lake likely would have acted the same way she does in DC5.

She judges Spencer just as she judged Ellie; she dislikes him because of the way he plays the game.

Lake grew wary of him, especially after Spencer eliminated Bruno who was their ally and part of their alliance believing it was the right move, even though it definitely wasn't.

Spencer weakened their alliance by showing he was capable of lying to them. Consequently, Lake decided to play the game her own way by trying to eliminate Spencer, a move that is understandable. He had already eliminated a member of their alliance, so what was to stop him from doing it again? Even though, in reality, Spencer still wanted to work with Lake.

Lake thinks she has the game figured out, failing to realize that the others are capable of strategic thinking too. She assumes that if she tells Natalia to vote against Spencer, Natalia and her alliance will simply do it showing that Lake doesn't fully grasp the intricacies of the game.

Basically, that’s what I wanted to say sorry if it’s a bit long. Lake doesn't think she can trust Spence who has already betrayed them, something people tend to forget and she tries to play her own game without realizing that the others can play the game too.

Lake is bad at the game, and that’s what the episode was trying to show, if I understood correctly.

Alright! Since it's been a day since airing now let's talk seriously.

Which of every contestants favourite food do you most to least want to eat! These are the serious questions people!

I hate S5 Gabby

“oHhhH bItcH i’M GagGeD”

Gabby’s been pmoing me this entire season, but this episode was her worst. She was quite literally crying in a ball like a few episodes ago because she was called fucking ANNOYING and now she’s calling people bitches with one of the most condescending voices Ive heard on the show? This is probably one of the most pissed states I’ve ever been after watching a new episode.

Gabby for me went from top 10 DC characters to worse than AS Ashley, a character who literally body slammed a child out of pure spite. That’s how bad S5 Gabby is. Even S4 Anastasia, who was my 3rd least favorite character before S5, had more redeemable qualities than S5 Gabby.

Rant over I suppose

“Alec and Rosa were wasted potential”… no. THEY were the wasted potential dynamic of the pre-merge 👇

ONC was literally sitting on a goldmine and just… did nothing 😭
