When did weightloss become easier?

I am 10 weeks postpartum woth my second. My first is 8yo with a different dad and I never really lost all the weight from that pregnancy but was starting to feel comfortable at 150 lbs right before getting pregnant. I gained about 55lbs (was 205 on the day I gave birth) and have been hovering between 180-185 with daily walks (5k steps) and calorie deficit. I am not breastfeeding this time.

With my first it was really a blur and my ex was abusive and I think that made me gain weight as well as breastfeeding.

So I'm trying to figure out when it will become a little easier to lose weight since my current postpartum weight loss is 0 with exercise and deficit after 2.5 months.

My husband keeps telling me the weight will start falling off around 6 months from what he's read online but I haven't seen anything like that.

I am 6 weeks pp and 30lbs heavier than when I got pregnant. I am 5'3" and apparently no clothes will sit right on me at this height and weight.

My mil who I loved dearly has passed this week and in addition to mourning her and caring for a baby i have to try on a million things and look at myself in the mirror when I don't recognize myself.

I looked in kohls, target, Marshall's, old navy, Walmart, and 3 different goodwill stores. Nothing worked. There were party dresses and beach dresses and the few dresses I tried on looked silly on me.

Please believe me its not just pickiness.

Where do you shop for an xl petite whose going to a funeral? I truly feel lost.

Id really prefer to not spend alot since ideally this won't be how big I am for too long.
