Q8 e-tron Long-Term Efficiency Numbers - What Are You Getting?

What is everyone seeing for their long-term efficiency numbers, and what are you getting on the highway?

I recently purchased a used 2024 Q8 e-tron, and the long-term efficiency before I reset it was around 2.0 mi/kWh. On the highway, I’m currently getting around 2.1 mi/kWh, but I haven’t done any really long trips yet. I’m wondering if that number improves once you get into longer highway drives.

Kyle from Out of Spec Reviews Youtube seemed to get close to 3.0 mi/kWh on his test, which seems pretty wild to me.

I usually drive in Allroad mode with the AC on, so maybe I should try an Efficiency-mode highway run and see what I get. Curious what everyone else is seeing!

Anyone else sell their R1 recently for surprisingly good money

I sold my ‘24 R1T Large Pack for $62k. Since I leased it, the buyout was around $54k, so I ended up coming out ahead a bit. I shopped it around, and the dealership actually beat Carvana’s offer.

Out of curiosity, I checked their dealerships inventory today, and they already have it listed for $75k. That seems pretty wild to me, but maybe someone will actually pay it. 😅

Anyone else sell recently and get more than they expected?

19" wheels for a Q8 e-tron?

Hi all! Looking for recommendations on 19" wheels for a Q8 e-tron. I’m thinking about switching to a more rugged setup with some AT tires, but I’m trying to figure out what wheel sizes/fitments actually work.

I’ve seen some people running 19s for winter setups so curious what wheels you’re running and what fits without issues - Thanks!

Asking a Dealership to make a car a CPO

I'm looking at a few 2024 Prestige or Chronos models that currently aren't CPOs. I asked the dealership about certifying them, and they said it would cost about $1,500.

Am I missing anything here? It seems like a pretty easy decision since the CPO program would qualify the car for the 1.99% financing rate and also add the extended warranty coverage. Based on that alone, it feels like the benefits would more than offset the certification cost, but I'd appreciate your perspective in case there's something I'm overlooking.

Any owners from Tesla / Rivian

Looking at picking up a 2024 Prestige and curious how people feel about transitioning from a Tesla or Rivian.

I’ve owned both and currently drive an R1T. My biggest concern is giving up the tech stack and EV range compared to Tesla and Rivian. On the other hand, I think the Q8 is one of the best-looking vehicles on the road right now in the EV space.

For those who made the switch, do you miss the software experience or range? Any regrets? What do you like better about the Audi?

Help with portfolio strategy — paid vs. basic

I’m a bit confused about the pricing structure. Is each portfolio a separate $150/year subscription, or does one subscription cover multiple portfolios?

For those using it regularly, is the Basic plan enough, or is the paid version worth it?

What’s everyone’s strategy here for managing portfolios and keeping costs reasonable?

Pay Cash or Use a HELOC for a $65k Home Improvement Project?

Trying to decide whether to pay cash or use a HELOC for a ~$65k backyard improvements(office pod).

We have the cash sitting in a HYSA earning around 3.5% so we could pay outright, but also considering a HELOC around ~6–7% and just paying it off aggressively over 3–4 years to preserve liquidity. Household income is strong and we wouldn’t be stretching either way.

Curious what others would do in this situation:
- keep liquidity and finance it?
- or just pay cash and avoid the debt?

Would love to hear how people think about the math + psychology side of this. Thanks!

Stevewilldoit money question

Logan’s question about the Monday piece was valid.

Sorry to start another thread on this, but I still don’t understand how Steve makes as much money as he seems to spend. “Happy Dad” can’t be the explanation—assume he’s taken little to nothing from it so far, aside from maybe a modest annual salary. He continues to buy cars and throws money out. It just doesn’t make sense at the magnitude he’s doing it at.
