First few games questions

I have now managed to play a couple (solo) games and have a few rules questions. I will ask them all here and see if I'm misunderstanding things.

  1. Spears. If the character with the spear touches both the allied attacker and the target of the attack, does it count double? ( one for the character and one for the spear?). I say no, but in a strict reading one could say yes. It took me a while to understand the spear rule.

  2. Range attack. Is there any way for a ranged knight to gain momentum without leaving a good position (something like aiming). Could I burn a 6 for example but not move the mini, just to add the 2 momentum? It feels like there should be some kind of Aim option.

  3. Is movement really completely unimpeded next to and through enemies? Meaning, I can burn a 6 and essentially do a 5 inch move around 3 enemies to get to a weaker target in the back? The game plays fine but it just feels like I'm missing a rule there. Something like opportunity attacks, or can't move while in contact with enemies.

  4. Knights die brutally when they're hit with a 1 pierced and get to 3 wounds. I also judged that if they get a hit that would bring them to 4+ wounds they also die . Otherwise they are incapacitated and the winner of the battle can collect their injured and the opposition can be held for ransom. Rules as written, someone could get 5 wounds and be not brutally killed. It felt weird.

  5. is movement supposed to be in a straight line or can it be measured as needed in free form? I played with hexed grid (easier online) and it worked good. I did free form.

I'm sure some of these are explained in the text, but it's a bit confusing to find answers especially without a table of contents in the pdf. Any guidance appreciated.

Solo Campaign Achievements

So, I am thinking to play a solo campaign in the system that allows for the Knights to get a name and then add various achievements. But it seems there are a ton of them and I would need to keep KPIs for each knight to always check if they did x or y within the battle etc. It feels like a lot of book-keeping. Is it my idea, or is there a better way to deal with this?

Play with Tokens (instead of minis)

Just bought the full rules after a quick playtest!

Really excited for this game esp. as a solo player with little time on my hands.

Does anyone here play with tokens on a VTT or similar (digital)? Let me know your setup. The more lightweight the best for me.

I started with questions about what a post-AI economy would look like in the US, in China, and in the EU... I continued with questions about UBI and UBS and how the money recycling would work there (it doesn't). I challenged it a bit on questions of environmental survival. It finally came up with a two tier parallel economy that is kinda cool...

The floor is socialist and the ceiling is capitalist:

Layer 1: The Sovereign Floor (Biological & Physical Security)

This foundational layer is strictly decoupled from human labor and traditional financial markets. It is engineered for absolute logistical efficiency and sustainability.

  • Automated Infrastructure: A federated AI manages essential physical systems, including energy grids (fusion/solar), high-yield automated agriculture, water desalination, and basic housing construction.
  • The "Library Economy" Interface: Resource distribution operates through a centralized digital catalog. Citizens utilize non-transferable resource credits to access goods. To maximize planetary efficiency, this layer emphasizes access over ownership for high-resource, low-use items (e.g., vehicles, specialized equipment), alongside standard consumable allocations.
  • Ecological Hard-Coding: Production is mathematically bound by planetary limits. The managing AI algorithmically caps extraction and manufacturing to sustainable levels. If ecological limits are approached, the credit cost of resource-heavy items dynamically adjusts to suppress demand.

Layer 2: The Infinite Ceiling (The Friction Market)

This secondary layer preserves the mechanisms of ambition, risk, and competitive innovation. It is chaotic, dynamic, and strictly voluntary.

  • Private Enterprise: Operating on a traditional fiat currency ("real money"), this sector encompasses all non-essential development. This includes experimental technologies, luxury goods, entertainment, private space ventures, and artisanal services.
  • The Regulatory Firewall: Wealth accumulated in this layer is isolated from foundational rights. Fiat currency cannot be leveraged to bypass the ecological constraints or basic survival guarantees of Layer 1. The rules governing physical reality and emissions apply equally to all entities regardless of accumulated wealth.

The Economic Bridge (The "Human Premium")

To prevent a bifurcated society where citizens are locked out of the dynamic fiat economy, structural mechanisms must exist to allow value to flow from the automated baseline into the private market.

  1. The Data Dividend: Citizens retain sovereignty over their data. They are compensated in fiat currency for the ongoing use of their biometric, cultural, and behavioral data, which remains the necessary training material for the AI infrastructure.
  2. The Empathy Economy: Roles requiring genuine emotional friction and human connection—such as caregiving, advanced education, mentoring, and community organization—command high premiums in the private market, as AI cannot replicate biological empathy.
  3. The Authenticity Market: Human-made goods, art, music, and experiences gain immense value precisely because they are not algorithmically generated. Imperfection and human effort become primary drivers of status and cultural capital.

Governance: Liquid Democracy

To mitigate the risk of technocratic authoritarianism, governance operates through decentralized, fluid consensus.

  • Fluid Delegation: Citizens can vote directly on individual policies via secure digital identity, or they can dynamically delegate their voting power to trusted experts on a per-issue basis. Delegations can be revoked instantly.
  • Algorithmic Impact Simulation: AI is utilized strictly for predictive modeling, not legislative decision-making. Proposed policies are simulated to project long-term ecological, social, and supply-chain impacts, providing voters with objective data on systemic trade-offs prior to establishing a consensus.

Τι πιστεύετε για την θρησκοληψία στο σχολείο;
