City Worker struggling- advice pls

Hey guys!
I’ve been debating whether to post here or not. I feel so embarrassed lol. I work for the nyc city morgue. Our salary is definitely not the best at all. I feel embarrassed when I ask to view places and they ask for my income /: but I still try. My credit is great. I can and do have someone who would be my guarantor. I’ve applied to NYCHA, HPD re rentals as well, and housing connect. StreetEasy has some decent priced apartments but gone so quick. I would move in with my bf but we are in a tough spot right now, and I kinda wanna be independent. However, that’s not looking like it’s possible. I’ll be honest, I make $46k. Trash for nyc. I check Craigslist, Facebook, StreetEasy, Zillow, and word of mouth really. I have a steady job. If I do OT my check is pretty good for two weeks. I have good savings as well. But I’m just at a loss. I feel discouraged. I live with my bf and his family. Basically in a cramped apartment with no space for my things at all and live in a suitcase for my job. If anyone knows of anything, I would really appreciate it. A studio is perfectly fine. In queens, Brooklyn, I’ll even take the Bronx even though the commute will be tough to my queens job. I’ve rented during grad school with no job. Had a roommate who was pretty bad. Terrible experience but I guess open to it too. Budget is about 1500-1600 is the most /: any words of encouragement, advice, brokers, I’ll take anything! Help a girl out. Thank you 🫶🏼
