Fun fact, Manson actually used the lyrics from Don't Answer the Door on an Instagram post back in 2016: The Egg with smooth arrogant completeness, trembles in the green plastic-pagan grass. This is why the Rabbit crushes him...And a martyr is born.

Manson getting hyped up before going on stage

Awesome to see him so excited to get on stage. I’m curious what it was like for him from around 2012 - 2019 before going on stage and how it compares to this.

Davros' speech from I, Davros about how he won't allow his injuries to destroy him

To me this is the best summary of who Davros is as a character, and I hope we get him back one day after what happened with RTD. Molloy is an amazing Davros, i'd love to see him back in some regard one day.

Even putting aside how amazing Manson himself is sounding right now, i'm really enjoying his live band (Unlike this version of the band from 2012)

Particularly in 2012 I really wasn't a fan of his live bands (no disrespect to the musicians involved, they're all really talented people, just with regards to being a Marilyn Manson band). The guitars always seemed to sound super thin, there were quite a few mistakes particularly from Twiggy, the drums didn't feel like they had much power, etc. (I think 2010s performances of the song Antichrist Superstar are the best example of all this).

But i've personally been really enjoying his live band lately. Seems to be a lot of energy, the parts generally sound good, and it just feels like people are actually enjoying being on stage, no doubt helped by a sober Manson (Do wish we could get a keyboard player though aha)

It’s weird just how deep his singing voice was from around 2009 - 2019

obviously I know it’s because he was drunk/on drugs considering g how good his singing is now, but it’s just always been interesting to me just how different his singing voice sounded during this period.

slurring is expected of course, but I’ve never met anyone so drunk that their voice pitch completely changed.

Always been interesting to me that Manson tried rehab in around 2004

I became a fan of Manson in the 2010s so only ever really knew him as the guy reliant on drugs/alcohol, but I remember finding it interesting when I heard that he’d actually tried rehab at a certain point.

he mentions it a few times during 2012 interviews, and he apparently even asked David Bowie about getting clean (Bowie response being that he found the drugs boring after a while).

Manson then tried rehab, which does line up with the fact that Dita apparently wanted him to change/grow up and get less reliant on drugs and alcohol. but then his dad breaks him out and Manson decides that “I’m Marilyn Manson, I’m supposed to do drugs and alcohol, and if you try to change me then you’re the problem” then leading to his divorce (and his eventual philosophy of “only drink and do drugs when you’re in a good mood. that’s what sets me apart from other addicts“)

no real point to this post. just a random thing I thought of when reading through old Manson interviews.

What’s a music opinion that seems really popular on Reddit, but does not apply to real life?

just curious if people’s opinions on this, Reddit is a well known echo chamber, so what’s an opinion about music you often see held as truth on Reddit, but doesn’t seem to really translate to real life/the general population?

Are you happy with where horror is right now in the 2020s?

With the horror films in cinemas right now smashing the box office, Weapons last year, Talk to Me a few years ago, etc. I just thought i'd ask what people think of where horror is as a genre right now, and how you feel it compares to say, a decade ago.

Personally i'm very happy with where it is and excited to see where it goes next.

2015 at the time with The Pale Emperor album and the subsequent tour, was seen as a comeback for Manson. Looking back on it now, how do you feel about that period?
