Lower profile Gridfinity bin for Ryobi Power Cutter (FVC51K)

Lower profile Gridfinity bin for Ryobi Power Cutter (FVC51K)

Made and shared a Gridfinity bin for the Ryobi Power Cutter a couple weeks ago. As much as I liked having the tool upright and easy to grab, that orientation ended up being too tall to fit into my tool drawer. Hope this laid-on-its-side version is useful to other people besides just me!

Been working on an Onshape FeatureScript to generate Gridfinity-compliant versions of the ubiquitous "Rugged Latching Parametric Box" - will share the Featurescript soon, I hope!

But for now, here's an implementation of that which I used to make an organizer box for my Dremel 8150 and a bunch of bits.

Quick Change Hex Bit Holder

Designed a lil flexure-based holder for quick change hex bits. Seems to work great! The flexure is designed so that there's no preload in the steady state, so PLA should print just fine and not creep over time.

I've also shared the flexure module itself in case folks want to integrate it into new designs!

Update - 260430 R02:

  • made it easier to install the post screws from the bottom
  • made it possible to drive the base mounting screws without removing the printer cradle
  • added drawers!

Why I made this:

  • I use a Rollo X1040 thermal label printer to print shipping labels at work.
  • I realized that you can buy thermal labels in all shapes, sizes, and colors, so I started using it to print stickers as well!
  • I got one of the generic Amazon 4x6 label holders that came with a spool, but it was annoying to take the spool holder out each time. So then I made this swing-arm mod which I used for quite a while, but it was kind of a bodge.
  • So here's an all-in-one station!
