Is this telescope worth buying?

I have always wanted one and this is in my local thrift store for under $20. I feel like there has to be something wrong with it for that price…

So I have a friend who always seems to have a negative comment for me, or at least that’s how it has felt for the last decade or so.
I recently had to get an emergency surgery for my pet, it was life or death. I also had recently lost my job. Because I was out of work with zero income I made a gofundme for my pets surgery. The surgery was just over 2k but I got it done and thankfully my baby is okay.
When I was talking to her recently, I was venting about the surgery and current lack of work right now, and also how I had been working multiple jobs for the last decade, how disheartening it is that I have nothing to show for it- how although it was terrible it was really motivating me to stay in school. (I am just wrapping up the semester, aiming to become an RN) she said something along the lines of “yeah we all work, I did it, we all did it”. That isn’t the comment that made me sad though, that’s just an example of how it is.
when we spoke about the surgery she said “we just had to put our dog down, it was $2000 too, we didn’t make a gofundme though…” I didn’t say anything, but I was stunned. I didn’t want to give a reaction but I feel like that was pretty rude, and kind of mean. For context, she is an RN and her husband works for the oil industry, I am single, live alone and recently unemployed, we’re all in our early 30s, essentially I probably make 1/4th of their income. I just feel like that comment was uncalled for considering our very different financial situations, it felt like when I look for support she sees her chance to dig in. it just feels like she tries to put me down purposefully sometimes.

I thought about possibly bringing it up to her and asking her why she said that considering how different our financial situations and lives are… but I figure it isn’t even worth it. Would I be overreacting if I stopped talking to her?
