Another one bites the dust

After just under 4 months of ownership, my P3 adventure is over. I took delivery in March, Orin VCU upgrade pre-installed, and had no GHCA failure or any software problems whatsoever, but everybody gets unlucky sometimes.

Edit: I was totally fine, no injuries. This car absorbed the impact like a champ, I barely felt a thing. The side curtain airbag did bust my sunglasses though 🤷‍♀️

Being an EV with more than just cosmetic damage and an airbag deployment, insurance was quick to total it. Remaining P3 Inventory is all but depleted in my area since Polestar is pulling out of the US, so I ended up replacing it with a P4, which ironically I was cross-shopping against originally. I guess AMA about “downgrading” from 3➡️4 (joking ofc, the P4 is very nice, just different).

Adaptive Dampers or Interior upgrade?

My space has two DM P4s that I’m trying to decide between, both are the same price.

The first one has the adaptive dampers, but the base Microtech seats. The second is from a newer batch with passive dampers, but has the upgraded Tailored Knit seats.

I’m coming from a P3 with wool upholstery, and I loved how breathable they were, and I’m assuming the Tailored Knit will be similar; the Microtech isn’t bad, but they do feel sweaty on hotter days. On the other hand, I drove a SM P4 with the base suspension, which imo is a little too stiff on crappy roads, but bearable. DM P4 owners with the passive dampers: how’s the ride, is it as stiff as I’m expecting?

Which would you choose: the better suspension or the better seats?

Windshield and Roof shades for P2

I have a set of HeatShield brand windshield and roof shades left over after returning my P2 lease, posting in case anyone here wants them. It’s getting hot out now, and I was super happy how well these worked at keeping the car cool while parked.

I’m looking for $50 for the set; I’ll give preference to local pickup in Westchester/Hudson Valley NY and surrounding area, but can arrange shipping if needed.
