Dealing with end of year depression as a sophomore?

Ive been a bit depressed lately because my very close friend(he’s almost a brother and we look so alike ive been called his name in the hall) is graduating this year. I haven’t really been clinically diagnosed with depression but with anxiety. I also applied for section leader and wasn’t selected. but then the two people who absolutely no one like because they’re very cocky, were selected for DM. I’ve really been feeling depressed lately mostly because of the seniors graduating(and I know next year will be worse). any tips or ideas to cope? I’m just lost right now

Throat irritation after sanding hickory?

so in exploring tech we are making boomerangs out of hickory. I shaped it with sandpaper the entire way. I used a sanding block and mostly the disk sander. im just wondering if anyone has dealt with throat irritation after working with hickory. just to be clear no i was not wearing PPE other than safety glasses.

I know y’all are going to yell at me that I need to rotate reeds, but have you seen the price of BCL reeds? Anyways I have a concert tomorrow night, and large group friday night. I have another reed that I’m playing on but it’s still a bit firm because I just started on it like a couple weeks ago, what can I do to get this other reed broken in? or should I just play on the good reed and call it a week?

I‘m looking for a partybox under $500 that’ll be loud enough for school bus rides. I DJ on our band bus rides to competitions. I own a On-the-go essential but I feel when I crank it up the bass gets heavy and the highs get funky sounding. I’d like something powerful enough that the tone stays smooth at medium power but still loud enough to be heard towards the front of the bus, I usually keep the speaker on the floor. Any recommendations are appreciated!
