Alright did I just make it too big now?

Based on feedback and advice from my second mock up (thank you all very very much!!) I made a quick 3rd mockup to change the pattern ( not this) and then this is I guess my fourth iteration with coutil lining and satin interfaced for the bodice.
I still plan on having an exterior sequin fabric over it but that will be hand sewed.
Now I’m pretty comfortable in it sitting and standing and much much happier with the shape at the bust and the hips (btw for the bust I pinned one of those backless sticky bras to my mannequin while draping the pattern and I highly recommend as it is funny looking and effective lol)
I also have an adjustable mannequin so thanks to everyone’s feedback i realized that before i was building to my exact dimensions and everything was just compressing so this time I reduced the waist by about 2” and increased the hips by about the same.
But i now worry about the lacing gap being non existent. Is no gap okay? The bust feels a little loose and I plan to modify neckline and I know it would fit perfectly if I could tighten to no gap by myself but I am tired lol. As for the hips I am very happy and have plenty of room for a fun tea length tulle skirt
And like yea I feel like at this point I’m getting much better at busting these out but id really not like to do it again haha
What do Yall think?

2nd mockup- advice welcome

Tried my second mockup utilizing some cheap cotton and satin that I thinly interfaced with some cheap interfacing I had. I left the last back panel of the satin exterior off as I was going to play with having the lining lace up with gussets and a stronger lace and the bodice close separately either with a zipper or maybe a more delicate hand embroidered eyelet lace up but I am having doubts on that. I am seeing I need to do some more work around the bust but my biggest concern is the bunching I am having right above the waist tape when I sit.
Would more boning In the center front help?
Should I loosen the hips more? Is the waist tape too tight? Could the issue be that the fabric has some give ?
Any help and advice much appreciated. I have pictures I will try and upload in comments or second post if need be.
Thanks in advance!

First pattern mockup update

Thanks all for all your wonderful advice on my first post!
I ended up undoing the chest area, repinning on my dress form and changing my pattern and it was a much better fit —though sewing that was a pain in my ass. Any tips for cleanly sewing the seams flat along the rounded surface? Especially for attaching or creating a boning channel there. I ironed the seams after notching but it felt like everything kept gettin in the way and it kept screwing with my thread tightness and causing bunching since the angles were awkward. I mean I couldn’t keep my lines straight for the life of me and I must have had to redo the first cup like 4 times to have it even somewhat consistent width for my boning.
Anyway here is where I am at! Lots of kinks to work out obviously but progress is currently being made!
Hey at least now I can wear it without a bra and the girls aren’t falling out haha.
And truth be told for what it is- a single layer of 2$ a yard cotton from Walmart and some zip ties from the dollar store it feels pretty sturdy and supportive so far which surprised me.
I can’t wait to see how much more supportive it will feel with sturdier fabrics in more layers, interfacing, waist tape, better sewn seams (everything was very loosely stitched), etc. I hope by focusing on sewing the seams in all the same direction and more carefully and meticulously that I will be able to avoid wrinkling in the bodice but as this is my first try, we will wait and see.
In the meantime while I optimize the pattern I’m gonna play with that cutout idea for the front center and see if that leads anywhere.
Again, thanks yalll for all your help and input.
Happy sewing!!

First mockup ever advice welcome

Had an inspiration for a dress using a basque -ish / maybe drop waist corset with possibly a heart shaped cut out on the mid panel below the bust using steel zip ties. Now I know what I want is crazy: I have sequined fabric in mind for the bodice that’s ridiculous, the cut out idea is well above my non existed corset making skills but I have a dream and a case of beer and emotional support pets. (Yes the cardboard from the beeer ended up being what I drew my pattern on lol!

Anyway I had a cheap corset that somewhat fit but had lines I liked so I traced the pattern and made modifications on what I wanted , basically lengthening the whole thing , adding room for my hips, and more coverage for the bust. Now I watch lots of corset making videos on YouTube to relax and I have been a long time lurker of the many super talented members of this exact subreddit so I know everything I did was sacrilegious so please forgive the messy marker lines, wrinkles, cat hair embedded in the seams.
I basically sewed a first draft mockup on one layer of cheap non stretch cotton and just adding extra seam allowance to use as the boning channels. My goal right now is just to get the pattern down. I obviously have issues with the bust I need to figure out so any help would be appreciated. I am noticing my lines are wonky - like does my side seam need to be completely vertical up and down? Also I’m currently just using a weird piece of trim as my lace closure I can reuse on future mockups cuz that’s all Michaels had (rip Joanne)
So anyways thanks for listening and if anything glaring is sticking out to anyone
Any and all advice welcomed
Thank you in advance!!
