Enfamil AR pre prep

We were advised to switch to Enfamil AR for reflux for my 4 month old. So far we have been on neosure ready to feed so mixing powder formula is newnto me.

Plus Enfamil AR is supposed to be thick one and internet says should not be pre made like pitcher method.

On top of that LO is starting daycare soon and they require pre made bottles for feeding.

I am at loss how do I pre make Enfamil bottles.

Anyone used this formula and did pitcher method?

Did you use boil water and then cool down in fridge? Did it lump with this?

Or just mix the formula at time of feed and let it sit 5 min is the best way? Not sure daycare would want to do that though.

Bottles a d Nipples recs

My 33 weeks born, now 36 has been on simila neosure from the start. He is using standard flow disposable nipple with that. Now I am trying to move to reusable bottles and so far he has rejected everything I tried.

He seems to just like texture of that disposable one, not sure.

Dr brown - T nipple , he took for some time but prob too slow so he didn't finish his regular feed and got tired. I got freaked out that he will start losing weight so I stopped

1 nipple, started leaking so stopped

Also I am not using green anti colic insert otherwise he just gets tired and stops feeding

Philips avent - rejected straight away

Nfant nipple- purple one, same he doesn't like the work.

Mam, Nuk haven't tried because I think he wont like breast shaped anything if using similac nipple. Learned from avent mistake

Any recs on making this switch. Would love to hear about your setup if using similac formula .

Medela symphony alternative for low supply

I used this in hospital when delivered at 33 weeks and then rented. Only reason I still have it is because it gives me some output like 1-3 ml. And it has small colostrum bottles which is helping to collect 1 ml drops without losing it in duckbill valves.

At home I tried momcozy wearables, pump in style pro but those gives me 0 output and if I do get some drops those are lost in valve mechanics. and then I get scared and extend the rental.

What are some options to switch from symphony, that is good for not losing the drops and also hopefully builds the supply.

I have tried flange inserts , many herbal teas etc but my output is stuck at 1-3 ml even at 20 days pp. But thats whole another post in itself.

Discharge anxiety

I had 33 weeker mainly feeder grower in NICU, He did have growth restrictions and born 3 l s, now 4 lbs at 35 weeks.

Since he started taking full feed by mouth maybe since 2-3 days, doctors are talking about discharging him in a day or two.

I am excited but also terrified at the same time. He still is just 4 lbs, just started to learn to finish bottles, when I am there at feeding time he would sometimes dont even take full feed from me and nurse have to finish it so he can avoid feeding tube. I am terrified what happens at home without this support. Am I overreacting that he is being discharged too soon?

I am trying to prepare myself post discharge lifebat home, definitely getting owlet to ease my anxiety around him not having any monitoring

What else we should be ready for ? Like feeding issues, managing reflux, choking, any other thing to watch out for. Or I am just being paranoid?

How do I even get supply started

I had emergency c section at 33+5 weeks so it was a shock and stressful time. While baby is in NICU I am trying to pump with medela symphony in hospital.

I had 0 supply initially and LC said it happens when you deliver early and body is still in shock, keep pumping every 3 hours and it will eventually come. So I did that.

Now a week later I get 1-2ml at best with each session. That too from one side only. I dont want to give up and make it 0 again so still keeping the routine. Adding all the supplements i was advised-

Mother's milk tea, iron supplements, fenugreek water you name it.

How do I kick start my supply. Is it pump? I got flange sizes checked, my sessions monitored everything. Anything else I should try

How much time allowed in NICU

I feel like I am visiting too less and its like I left him alone on his own there. I want to stay there whole day but also know I may be getting in the way of nurses or should spent some time resting myself recovering from csection.

I also cant go back and forth for that reason. Our apartment has 3 flights of stairs so trying to do it only once.

Our hospital dont have limited visiting hours or anything but how did you balance the stay in NICU and your resting. How much time you actually spent with your little one while they are in NICU

Recovery tips while in NICU

I had emergency c section st 33 weeks, now 6 days pp and baby is in NICU

Since 2 day pp, I have been up on my feet, going to hospital 30 min drive one way (husband drives), walk in hospital, poor appetite from all of it. We also live in apartment with 3 flights of stairs so climbing that up and down every time I go.

I am still traumatized from from whole ordeal and everyone is recommending I take it easy on myself and not do too much, but I think I am just doing bare minimum and it's either that or don't visit him at hospital as often. Also seeing him is the only thing that brings me comfort right now.

Were you in such situations, how did you manage your recovery with physical demands of NICU or anything other reason
