First 2 (tiger) muskies, 8/11 and 8/13

I’ve been hitting this spot for a while trying to get a musky and finally got one on Tuesday (first pic) came in at 30”. Went back Thursday and got another one, 37” (second pic). First one was caught on a 4 inch soft plastic swimbait and the other one was on a 3.75” glide. I was alone catching the second one and ended up in the water breaking my line and wrestling it for about a 8 minute total fight. Pretty fun getting them in on bass gear too, 7’3 MH rod and Abu Voltiq SX (last pic)

Right rod?

I just bought the Abu Garcia Voltiq sx, I’ve been looking for a good all around rod to pair it with. I’ve looked around a lot and I’ve narrowed it down to just 4 but I’m not sure how to pick from there. I’m at the Daiwa Procyon, Arid X, or tatula xt or the Fenwick eagle. Any recommendations or cuts?

Bait caster suggestions

I’m looking to buy a new bait caster in the $150-250 range. I have been using the Abu Garcia Revo for 3 years now and it still works great and so far has been my favorite reel I’ve ever casted (not many). For that reason I’ve been looking at the new Abu Garcia Voltiq and Voltiq sx. That also questioned whether it was the best DC reel for what I want. I also considered a non DC reel just of nicer quality but other than a newer Abu I don’t know what I’d want. I’m looking for a versatile far casting quality reel, preferably being able to throw pretty small and large baits. I like the over all profile of the Revo and even on that getting a bad backlash is rare. Any suggestions appreciated.
