BC upgrade

Hey guys,

Travelling from Budapest to Guangzhou via Istanbul this Saturday. We would like to try the Turkish Airlines BC experience. We have an economy ticket, but there is a paid upgrade option for 1745 euros for two of us. Is this a good deal? Will it go lower at the airport, or later? Should we get this now? Any advice is appreciated!

EDIT:
Only the Istanbul-Guangzhou leg costs 1745 for two, Budapest-Istanbul costs 360 euros. The aircraft is a 787.

Price match guarantee is a scam?

I recently tried to book 4 nights at the Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai from July 12–16 in a King Premium Nanhai Wing room.

Before booking, I checked Booking.com and found the exact same room with the exact same cancellation conditions — but around 1000 CNY cheaper than Hilton’s official website. On top of that, Booking.com was also offering an extra 15% discount on food, drinks, and hotel services.

Since Hilton advertises a Price Match Guarantee, I submitted a claim expecting them to match it. However, they rejected it because Booking.com included the additional 15% perk, while Hilton’s direct booking did not.

I tried explaining to customer support that:

the room category was identical
the cancellation policy was identical
the dates and conditions were identical
and Booking.com was actually offering MORE benefits for LESS money

But they still said they couldn’t honor the price match because Hilton policy requires every condition to match exactly.

So my question is: what’s even the point of calling it a “Price Match Guarantee” if a third-party site can offer the same room cheaper plus extra perks, and Hilton can simply reject the claim because of those perks?

Feels a bit misleading to me. Has anyone else experienced this with Hilton?
