Can I read CC3 without ACOTAR?

Hi,

I’ve seen a bunch of threads about this but I honestly have no interest in reading ACOTAR but I know the third book is like directly related. I read them because of the urban fantasy esque vibe but I can’t really be bothered to go read ACOTAR just to understand the third book. Could I just do without it?

New to running , calf pain

I’ve been trying to get into running as a form of cardio. However I’ve noticed that my body seems to reject it in a way where I am always getting pain in my calves / shin splints.

I waited like a month to where I didn’t have any pain in my calve/shin from touching and did a mile run two days in a row and boom the pain came back. I’m about ready to give up because I’m not sure what to do. I can definitely run a mile even 3 but it seems that part of my body can’t keep up or take the impact.

Most recent ones were both 1 mile one was 10m and the other 11m. Both started and ended with walking .25 mile and stretching.

I do fitness classes like 4-5x a week, lifting, strength, sculpt, pilates, spin etc. I think I should have a solid foundation and be able to at least run a mile with no issue but it seems that it’s not enough / focus the muscles in that area.

Does anyone have any tips? I’ve tried to modify my form and think it’s pretty solid for a beginner. I also got fitted for shoes at fleetfeet so those should be solid, although they are a stability shoe so i’m wondering if that’s causing issues in calf pain.
