My girlfriend and I have been together for two years.
During the first year, I wasn’t a good boyfriend. I made a lot of mistakes. Even though I forgave her when she made serious mistakes and didn’t hold them against her, I know I hurt her too.
In the second year, we broke up four times because I kept making promises that I couldn’t keep. I’ve been trying with all my strength to change, and I’m honestly exhausted from trying to become a better person.
She told me she hates me and can’t stand me anymore. At one point, she had sexually explicit conversations with another guy and compared me to him. I considered that a betrayal, but I chose to forgive her because I wanted to save our relationship.
Later, I talked to another girl, and now she wants to leave me for good.
I’m not looking for anyone to decide who was right or wrong. I know I made mistakes, and so did she. I’m looking for practical advice on what I can do to become a better partner and whether there’s any healthy way to rebuild trust if she’s willing.
