Found this beaut at the local vintage shop. Hand made from I think the 70s? It’s way too big on me but I couldn’t pass it up. Open to suggestions on how else to style it!
Hear me out.
Books like Tender is the Flesh (Agustina Bazterrica), The Troop (Nick Cutter), Spread Me (Sarah Gailey), The Girl Next Door (Jack Ketchum), and many more deserve respect in the Extreme and Splatterpunk Horror communities. Certainly a whole lot more than is being shown in a lot of the horror communities, indie and mainstream alike.
Very recently, I made a post responding to a previous recommendation (Erotic EH?) in this sub reviewing the book Spread Me. In the post I identified this as something that was mild, something purists probably wouldn’t define as “extreme”. Something I will now be forever referring to as “gateway extreme horror”.
Someone took it upon themselves to, what I can only assume was, teach me a lesson. They chose to engage with a genuinely grateful post sharing a cool piece of art just to tear me down and insult me for even considering posting about such a book in this subreddit. It was a very uncool way to respond to such a no big deal post.
Luckily, a larger majority of the community aren’t jerks and engaged authentically with the post. As for me, I’m not one that cares the slightest about what some stranger thinks if their opinions ostracize any person from experiencing joy that does not harm another person. 👉😎👉
If we truly want to grow this community… if we truly want to show people just how dang siiiick this genre can be, then we need to get our heads outta our own butts and let people have their gateway extreme horror. Let people ease into the genre at their pace.
Let them use their gateway extreme horror. Much like a traffic cone stretching into the maw of the most gag-inducing, sometimes thought-provoking, almost -always disgusting (in some way) art that we all love.
(ikyky and that book deserves a spot here too)
Let’s use it as an opportunity to share and teach about this under appreciated and under experienced art.
🤘The Tender is the Flesh Rule🤘
Edited to add: To be clear: I’m a seasoned EH/Splatterpunk reader, intention of post is only to foster discussion and reflection.
A couple weeks ago, I asked for erotic extreme horror recommendations. Whoever suggested Spread Me— thanks! It was a lot of fun. While not as extreme as I typically enjoy, it was definitely more in the right direction. (A purist would probably say it’s not extreme… but it made me full gag at least twice so that’s a win for me)
Spread Me by Sarah Gailey follows a research team deep in the desert. They find a specimen beneath the top layers of soil and bring it back to the research facility… only to discover it’s looking to spread. What it’s going to spread is the question.
4/5 stars
I’ve had this desire lately to read some erotic extreme horror. Or smut that makes you go *euuuuyughhhh* and question why you’re into it. I’ve done dark romance. Butcher and Blackbird, Lights Out. I’ve read those. They were close but not what I want. I’ve also read Because You’re Mine by Kristopher Triana. Again, close but not gross enough.
I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for or if it exists but I figured you weirdos might be the people to ask.
I would prefer women or non-binary authors but am open to recommendations!
Edited to add: WE NEED MORE WOMEN IN EXTREME HORROR. Thank you very much.
I’m currently sitting on the bathroom floor with the love of my life’s cat. I’m waiting for the cat, Dexter’s, anxiety meds to kick in while the movers are moving my partner out of his apartment. He’s moving 2 hours away, to be in the same city with me. When the movers asked him why he was moving so far, my partner said “Love and work,” so nonchalantly. And now I’m sitting on the bathroom floor reading about vagina mice with a cat. I sent the same picture to my best friend. What a weird day and it seemed like too ridiculous of a moment not to share. 🐁🐁🐁
Book: Slit Mouse by Jae Maezer.
Will report back with a review when I’m finished.
Thank you for your time.

I’m having a hard time consolidating information about honey jar spells. I’ve seen some stuff that says that you should make them for anyone who controls your income (example: your boss).
Here’s my question:
I’m self-employed and work in a branch of healthcare that requires insurance billing. There’s also a *ton* of variables I can’t control that impact my income (lookin’ at you Medicaid, if you know you know) so I’m just kind of stuck.
How do I do a honey spell in this context? Or am I way off? Is there another route I should be going? Besides running a good business, because I’m on that!
My personal heritage is Scottish and German and I’m currently exploring that magical lineage. I would extra appreciate any resources shared from those cultures and histories. But truly, any information or resources would be excellent!

I’m slowly turning my house into the weird, Wizard of Oz-themed, dopamine house of my dreams.
