I've been a musician for around 15 years now, I write all my own music, and have recently stepped back from working in a music group to focusing on my own personal tracks.
I'm looking to compensate a fellow composer for their time in assisting me to give my current project some more identity. I would like to show you some of my current ideas and bounce ideas back and forth in order to strengthen the foundations for my in-the-works EP.
The EP, working title "Let There Be Night", focuses on themes of (leaving) religion, existential crisis', grief and psychosis. It's inspired by Bowie's earlier works, along with thematics similar to Senses Fail, ditching the concept record approach for something much more raw, direct and honest.
If you can't relate to the themes at all, there's probably not a whole lot of common ground for us to work off, but if you consider yourself an emotional person that looks for meaning in suffering I would wager that it can't hurt to shoot me a message.
I'm based in Adelaide, SA. However, I expect this session to be online, perhaps over a Discord call.
Please feel free to reach out and show me any of your music that you've created, along with anything about yourself that you'd like to share. As a ballpark figure, I'm looking at spending about $100USD on the session but this is negotiable.

I'm currently in Adelaide, in the process of selling my house to move to Melbourne.
It's been a long time since I've actually performed live, so I'm really excited by the prospect of starting a new group and performing again.
I'm a singer/songwriter and guitarist. I write all my own music, and composition is one of my favourite parts of the musical career process.
I've suffered a lot of loss in my life, such as the death of my mother, sister and father, all of which are ongoing sources of inspiration for my lyrics and music.
About 10 years ago now, I played in an Adelaide band, which was an outlet for me. I had to stop due to a decline in my health, but I've been getting a lot better lately!
When I was playing in my previous band, we would address themes such as mental health, gender identity, emotional attachments and death. In my own time since then, I've been writing a solo EP that is basically about a crisis of faith, and leaving religion.
While my last band was a six-piece, inspired heavily by My Chemical Romance, I'm currently visualizing a three-piece (open to four), similar to Twenty One Pilots, The Beatles and Queen. We don't have to strictly adhere to these inspirations, especially since everyone comes from different backgrounds, but it should provide a bit of insight into where I'm coming from.
