Started Paxil 10mg 6 days ago, worrying symptoms
This is my first time ever being on an antidepressant for panic disorder. Overall feeling way more anxious and nervous than usual and having intense panic attacks. On Thursday I started having this cooling tingling sensation in my genitals.
Last night I woke up in the middle of my sleep with a racing heart and that same cooling tingling sensation all over my entire body from head to toe. I was shaking and was so close to calling 911 but my heart rate steadied and my BP was normal so I chose not to.
This morning and currently my HR and bp still normal but I’m still experiencing tingling and feel like my body is having these internal tremors. My hands start shaking every now and then and I’m also having a headache. I’m having a feeling of dread and doom. My pee is also running clear / light yellow even with minimal hydration. I’ve been drinking salt water in fear of hyponatremia. Are these normal symptoms or should I get medical care?
Why are many of these waves inverted
pulse 109 was admitted with fluttering in chest. ER dr only checked for pe, said I didn’t have one then and that she only treats life/death situations and told me to follow up with cardiologist all while telling me it’s normal sinus rhythm. Now that I’m seeing the actual ekg I’m confused.
QTC prolongation, SSRI’s
Question about starting an SSRI(Paxil 10mg) I’ve been to the ER a couple times due to tachycardia and fluttery palpitations. Being told it’s just panic attacks. HR is usually above 100 when they do ecg but when I’m in a normal resting state my HR is lower 60s and can dip into 50s while awake. Lowest I’ve seen was 53 while awake. I’m not an athlete, not in shape and don’t work out so I’m not sure why my hr is low especially during my follicular phase. They make me uncomfortable when this low.
I’m seeing that the lower your HR the higher QTC is and that SSRI’s can prolong them. My QTC was 430 during a reading in the ER with a HR of 109 (i was admitted at 120+ but calmed down at this point). This worries me because I only have tachycardia during “panic attacks”.
If my normal is low 60s and even lower during follicular wouldn’t this mean my QTC is significantly higher than 436. I feel worried and unsafe about taking this SSRI. I’m supposed to start them this week but I can’t see a cardiologist until August. My “panic attacks” are debilitating and affect my life greatly but I’d rather have that than to experience a dangerous fatal arrhythmia. Am I safe to take an SSRI? Do you think I am at risk of QTC prolongation based on this information? Thanks.
