What is Chanda?

Can someone explain the concept of Chanda to me please? I give chanda every month because I thought it meant I was donating to those in need. I recently asked my dad if I am able to receive a tax receipt for all the “donations” I have made in this financial year because donations are tax deductible in my country, but my dad said that Chanda is not a donation. So now I don’t really know where my money is going and if I can reduce the amount I am paying. From what I understand, I have to pay certain % of my pay and it goes towards the Jamat in general so for construction, salaries and programs, is that right?

Is travelling to Greece in the later half of the year okay?

My 11-year-old brother has recently become quite interested in Greek mythology and history. So, I wanted to take him on a holiday to Athens but the only time it might be suitable for me is later this year perhaps after September, most likely November. Is Greece good to travel at this time of year?

“Whodunnit” movies? Or mystery/thriller?

I love these kinds of movies, I love a surprise at the end, or a plot twist I didn’t see coming and not to sound narcissistic but I love it when I can guess the plot or whodunnit before it’s revealed, it makes me feel kind of like a little detective myself.

I feel like I’ve seen most of these kinds of movies though and I would like some recommendations. I don’t mind if they’re comedy or more serious. I also don’t mind if they’re in another language. I’m open to tv show recommendations as well.

For reference, of course I’ve seen (and love) the knives out trilogy; I’ve also seen the Hercule Poirot series. The most recent mystery I watched was The Woman in Cabin 10. And I know these are not movies, but, I’ve also recently seen the residence, young Sherlock and 56 days.

Unique podcasts recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a unique and hilarious podcast? For example, my one and only favourite podcast is ‘my dad wrote a p*rno’ - I normally don’t like podcasts but this one was such a unique concept and absolutely hilarious. It became sort of like my comfort listen but I have listened to it so many times now that I think I should give something else a try. I don’t really like podcasts where there’s two people in front of a microphone and they’re just chatting - so I’m on the hunt for an interesting podcast, if anyone has any suggestions?
