Has Gboard’s voice typing officially lost the plot, or is it just me?

Hey everyone,

I swear I’m losing my mind here, but has anyone else noticed that Gboard's speech-to-text has taken an absolute nosedive recently? It used to be bloody brilliant—I could rattle off a whole paragraph and it would nail it. Lately, though, it feels like the software is actively taking the piss.

Here’s the nonsense it’s been pulling on a daily basis:

The AI "Corrections": I’ll dictate a sentence, watch it transcribe the words perfectly on screen, and then the split second I pause, the model decides to "re-think" the entire sentence. It replaces perfectly normal words with utter gibberish. It's like it has a panic attack and guesses a statistical average of what I might have meant instead of what I literally just said.

Aggressive Auto-Punctuation: It casually drops full stops, commas, and random capital letters right in the middle of a smooth sentence, completely butchering the flow.

The Ghost Mic: Half the time it completely ignores the first three or four words I say, no matter how long I awkwardly wait after hitting the mic. It’s like dealing with a dodgy bartender who only tunes in halfway through your order.

I’ve tried the usual fixes: clearing the app cache, diving into settings to toggle off 'Faster voice typing', and disabling auto-punctuation. It’s still a proper shambles. Whatever overzealous predictive update Google rolled out has made the feature borderline unusable.

Is anyone else dealing with this absolute headache, or is my phone just having a laugh? If someone has a solid workaround—or knows how to force it back to basic, literal acoustic transcription without the predictive guessing—I’d be forever grateful.

Cheers!

Missing cat L3R6P area

Anyone missing a cat? I know I saw a post earlier but it's not the same cat, at least I don't think so. This is the first time we've seen this cat in the backyard and it definitely does not look wild. Maybe it's somebody's cat in the area and it's just wondering around.

Impatient driver 401 to 404 ramp

Driving on the 401 and I get onto the 404 ramp and this car gets into the shoulder lane to pass me and then continues to drive in between two vehicles illegally and almost causes a three car collision. Is this a reportable offense and what's the process?

Milliken GO station parking tickets

Just went and picked up my wife and I saw three parking enforcement cruisers giving tickets to each and every car in The splendid China mall parking as I know a lot of people park there when the Milliken go lot is overflowing so if you have parked at The splendid China mall parking, you're probably going to be hit with a ticket. I wonder if they're doing additional enforcement because of the Markham Indy? But we're really far away from Unionville go so I don't think it's that. Perhaps people are taking the shortcut and not parking all the way at the end of the Milliken lot and finding it lesser of a walk from The splendid China mall parking lot, regardless they're enforcing pretty strictly right now ticket.

Did we all just wake up?

That was intense. One flash, one humungous clap of thunder that had intense bass to it. Ground shaking.
