phone light flashing while tailgating and i’m already 10 over on a 40.

Since my car has auto-dim, I noticed some white specks on their windshield. After reviewing the footage, those assholes were flashing their phone lights at me. At one point, I even saw the driver holding the phone too (not in the video). From my POV, they got so close at one point that I could only see the roof of their car in my rearview mirror.

Near the end of the video, I had to press my brakes really quick because I was heading downhill.

Driver passes stopped school bus on bus exit side in Markham.

Posted by u/Edgrawr in Markham subreddit earlier today. Crazy how the driver not only passes the school bus but on the side where children exit the bus. Was already reported to YRP earlier by the original poster in the Markham subreddit. Ideally this is a (criminal) dangerous driving charge but without a positive ID for the driver (besides the plate) the police can only really investigate and try to bait an admission of the driver.

New Driver with broken left signal and brake light making lane changes and on phone

Was driving and red car had sign on back saying “NEW DRIVER”. Their left signal light and left brake did not work at all so they are making these lane changes without proper signalling which is very dangerous on highway. They were also distracted on their phone driving 60kph on highway trying to figure out directions

Tailgater illegally crosses HOV lines, throws a tantrum, and cuts right back in

I was driving down the highway 400 at a steady 110 km/h in the HOV lane with my family in the car when this Chevy SUV came up behind me and began aggressively tailgating. Instead of waiting for a proper opening, the driver decided to illegally cross the solid double lines into the regular traffic lanes to pass me on the right. As they pulled up alongside us, both the driver and the passenger leaned out to flip me and my family off before the driver immediately cut back over the solid lines right in front of my vehicle.

This entire maneuver was completely illegal and entirely unnecessary. In Ontario, crossing the solid lines of an HOV lane is a traffic violation that carries heavy fines and demerit points. The HOV lane is meant to encourage high-occupancy travel and maintain steady traffic flow, not to serve as a personal speeding lane where aggressive drivers and their passengers can bully others who are already moving at a reasonable highway speed.

Looking at the footage, the regular highway lanes are completely empty. What exactly was I doing wrong here? If they wanted to speed, why not just use the wide-open regular lanes instead of aggressively tailgating and forcing their way through the HOV lane?

Two instances from the same drive...

These are tamer than other posts I've seen on this subreddit, but it just annoys me that my insurance is so crazy high because of other people's stupidity.

Driver fell asleep but luckily unhurt

Happened right off dvp. Surprisingly driver was not even scratched but car was totalled and doors jammed.

This is why Bayview was jammed up around 5:30 today.
