I'll be starting my Computer Science Engineering degree soon, and I'm looking to buy a laptop that will comfortably last me throughout my 4-year course.

My budget is around ₹60,000–₹70,000 (can stretch slightly if the improvement is genuinely worth it).

I also have a few questions:

1. Should I prioritize a dedicated GPU, or would a powerful integrated GPU be sufficient for most CSE students?
2. Are there any laptop models I should specifically avoid because of heating, poor build quality, or reliability issues?
3. If you've recently completed or are currently pursuing CSE, which laptop are you using, and how has your experience been?

I'd really appreciate recommendations based on real-world experience rather than just specifications.

Hi everyone,

I have accepted my allotted seat in the CSE branch during HBTU counselling. I wanted to ask what the next steps are.

Should I simply wait for the official physical reporting dates, or is there anything else that needs to be completed beforehand?

I'm particularly confused about the ERP portal registration. When are we supposed to register on the ERP portal? Is it done immediately after seat acceptance, after physical reporting, or once the institute issues further instructions?

If any senior or someone who has gone through the process could clarify the sequence of steps, I'd really appreciate it.

I can get both, what would you suggest, which one is better... for core, hbtu is definitely better, but i was confused for CS/IT

For final submission, it is asking for passing certificate of class 12th , i appeared cbse boards this year itself, from where can i get it? school teachers are saying it will be accessible on digilocker itself. (marksheet hai uspe, not certificate) Kisi ka hua?

i have got 57 k crl, girl, UP HS, general, i can get IT at UIET Chandigarh as per last year's data... what would you suggest? how r the placements, environment there? is it worth it? given i am interested in tech branches... please give your valuable advice.... 🙏
